Incredible stick handling. That was an amazing view and angle of the puck. That was a bounce.
Low quality combined with below average finishing ability is a bad recipe. They need to generate more quality chances to try and make up for the terrible finishing they have beyond the first line. And yet somehow they’re still averaging within .01 goals per game as Toronto.
They’re not going to score the same way as Toronto because they don’t have the same kind of elite snipers as Toronto. Doesn’t mean what they’re doing isn’t working.
I mean, maybe? But if they don’t have the horses to be high quality finishers they need to do what’s working for them.Low quality combined with below average finishing ability is a bad recipe. They need to generate more quality chances to try and make up for the terrible finishing they have beyond the first line.
They’re 2nd in the conference in GA and near the bottom in GF. It’s absolutely the problem.Goals for isn’t the problem with this team.
Case in point. This defense fucking sucks against any opponent with a decent offense.Goals for isn’t the problem with this team.
Yes. There’s enough bad teams in this conference that they’ll finish in a playoff spot, maybe even win a round, and do the exact same things I with the exact same shit management that they’ve been doing. Is this a playoff team?
As constructed, they’re going to have to fight tooth and nail. TB and FLA seem to have 2 spots. It’s going to come down to beating out Toronto for the 3rd spot. The 2 WCs probably come from the Metro. Is this a playoff team?
The record is smoke and mirrors. The goaltending they are getting isn't sustainable. They're good but they aren't 13-4 good. The Rangers are going to be 13-4. Goal differential of +5.
That is quite a stat considering the record.
Because they’d have to fire Neely as well. How have they not fired Sweeney & hired Gorton yet?
I agree. Their record in one score games is pure luck. Obviously this one isn't a 1 score game right now, but it may as well be. And I was including the two goal lead today in the +5 statistic. The record is smoke and mirrors. The goaltending they are getting isn't sustainable. They're good but they aren't 13-4 good.
I’m fine with that. But, they aren’t. Sigh.Because they’d have to fire Neely as well.
They should blow out the whole management team but they won’t.I’m fine with that. But, they aren’t. Sigh.
And they should because this disaster is also on himBecause they’d have to fire Neely as well.
Isn't this largely a function of playing fewer games than any other team? They're 13th in the league in goals per game and 10th in goals allowed per game. They’re 2nd in the conference in GA and near the bottom in GF. It’s absolutely the problem.
A fair point.Isn't this largely a function of playing fewer games than any other team? They're 13th in goals per game and 10th in goals allowed per game.
but they won’t, that’s the point. Until ownership figure out that they got the wrong guys to rebuild this team, they’re going to be stuck in mediocrity. And they should because this disaster is also on him
It was 5.5, tho. Unless you're talking about an adjusted line.Brutal beat for under 6.5.
They are 13th in GF/60 and 17th in GA/60 at all strengths. They're still pretty good at surpressing chances (5th in SCA/60) but can't generate their own (15th). We're always below average at finishing, and now we don't have the elite goaltending we used to have so even though we still surpress chances well, more are going in.A fair point.
Zboril has been the Bruins’ third-best defenseman and significantly better than either of Boston’s free-agent signings. The Bruins have 99 problems but Zboril ain’t one. When does Zboril live up to his billing? Good grief.
