It didn’t really change the game. They scored anyway.
They had the extra skater on. Look normally I’d be fine with that reaction to a slew foot, but either we’re trying to get points and make the playoffs or not. This team can’t take retaliation penalties with Marchand out. They just don’t have the offense to recover.

They need very point they can get. They play a shit Tom of games in March/April. Wasting points now could be the difference in making or missing the playoffs.
They have 40 of the least dangerous shots I’ve seen in awhile against a shit team, and their goalie is coated in Crisco and cheats to the point of overplaying every puck that crosses from one side of the ice to the other. If this point or two is the difference in making the playoffs—and it won’t be—do you think they’d accomplish much when there?

So in that case, then why isn’t Studnicka playing 20 minutes a night then? If we’re just throwing points away, might as well develop some players.

He absolutely should be getting regular minutes at center for this team—at least see what you might have.

I’ll add a third to Myt1 and Salem‘s Lot. Put Studnicka’s speed and play-making ability between Hall and Smith.

Trip they called on Lazar to start the whole slide was absolutely buttersoft. Tuned in for last 10 and now I’m too furious at that whole Reilly sequence and generally asynchronous play to take a glide path to sleep. Speaking of glide paths, how was Jake tonight?

To be fair, the call leading to the Bruins only goal was equally as soft.

Invisible, zero shot attempts. Wouldn’t have known he played if he didn’t get booed in the first period.

Missed that. And here I was thinking 40 shots meant the better team lost tonight. Perimeter stuff, I guess. If we continue to lack depth scoring, it would at least be nice to have a Merlot line to loosen some opposition dental work now and then.

They were better, but not 2.5 times better. They carried the play and a lot of guys skated better (Hall primarily) but just never really threatened to score at even strength.

Hall looked determined to pick up some Brad slack. Was good to see him barrel down the wing a couple times. Will Ullmark have to come down with the Hellenic (Warrior?) Flu after Tuukka’s ready?

The Bruins find ways to lose games of late. Decent effort, some speed, lots of shots on net, take the loss. A home game no less. I'm getting tired of the clog up the front of the net philosophy. It doesn't give the shooter a good look at the net. So we shoot wide. Why not play some hockey?
