Sure the Hornets were without Ball, Hayward, and Rozier, but it was still fun to kick the snot out of them anyway.

Tomorrow night the Heat come to town for two games, at least the first of which we expect Jimmy Butler to miss with a bum ankle. Al and Jaylen, both out last night, are listed as day-to-day and I suspect we'll see them both. As great as the Celtics have been all season, losing to a Butler-less Heat would still suck mightily, especially given the possibility of his return against the Celtics just two days later. Miami stacks up well against the Celtics in most categories save for two: total points and 3-pt percentage. Obviously taking care of the latter boosts the chances of the former, and taking care of the former means we win. Contain Bam, contain Lowry, and let the buckets rain as they have all season.

7:30 tip at the Garden. NBCSB/NBA TV.

WIN.

I’ll be there. It’s my son’s first professional sporting event. He’s 5 and really likes Tatum and White. Here’s hoping those gentlemen crush the Heat.

Enjoy! I took my daughter to her first game when she was five and she had a blast.

Harass the Heat.

Yes, I took my 5 yo daughter to her first game on Sunday. Her favorite player is Marcus Smart, which I love. She and I highly recommend the balloon clovers, which are handed out free, in the Loge Concourse I think around section 5. Have fun (and handle Los Heat!)!

Scal pointed out there has been a lack of quality/quantity of cuts in their 5 out offense of late. That's a bit concerning to me given how much I expect Miami to junk the game up and play zone.

This game will be a bit of a basketball IQ test. Will they drive into the seams of the zone? Will they make cuts through the zone? Or is this team going to make a few passes around the perimeter and take semi-open 3's outside the flow of their normal offense?

Their zone lasted all of one possession and a dunk. That was a good sign.

It's not like Joe hasn't earned the benefit of the doubt, but these are the times I question his no timeouts during opponents' runs strategy.

They made a bunch of early threes, got slack on defense, settled for launching threes. A lot not to like right now. Good timeout.

Looks different if the halfway down shots went down but it was still a few possessions too late. Defense slacked.
