The Bruins need to play better than Thursday. Take it to them early and leave no doubt.

Bergie ceremony = pumped up crowd, pumped up team. Win.

Montgomery pregame: "Mr. Swayman" starts. "Mr. Smith in for Mr. Greer." Also, Mr. Grzlecyk and Mr. McAvoy will be a D pair, and Mr. Lindholm and Mr. Carlo will skate.

It struck me looking at Bergeron during the ceremony that he looks just like any player from the non-helmeted late 60s when I started watching hockey. And that's really his game...timeless. Not otherworldly.

Bruins are sloppy and inattentive 5 on 5 but they lead. It's good to have Pasta and Krejci on the PP.

Good win. As late as 8:00 left in the third there was a possibility that this game could have gone much like the last one.

The BJ's have some injuries but we played at best so-so for long stretches of the game and still routed them. Great team.

Swayman was also +1.34 in actual vs. expected goals today. Hope that's a sign that he's turning around some poor play and can at least be a decent backup going forward.

I know both were on the power play, but Swayman got beat twice short side. No es bueno.
I'm going to give the shooter the lion's share of the credit on the roofed backhand. I think the bulk of NHLers miss that even if there's no goalie.

I think my son's head would have exploded if the Sway shot went in. That would have been something the witness in person. Either way, great day at the rink.

So I’m putting this in a game thread because it’s a tangentially cool thing that isn’t worth a spot in the news thread, but we went down to Saint Andrews, NB this weekend to meet with my parents for a Christmas gift exchange. When we get there, we notice a coach bus by the resort door and quite a few people wearing Hockey Canada stuff. Turns out, the Canadian junior team is using the resort as a pre-tournament camp base while they practice in St. Stephen (Don Sweeney’s hometown) during the day. I’m now 99% sure I saw Shane Wright walking behind my parents at dinner.
