Looks like there may be weather problems for the derbies on Sunday .. heavy snow (by English standards) in the forecast for early Sunday morning .. according to the Liverpool Echo. The forecast is for Liverpool but Manchester is just a few miles away.

The effort from guys like Noble, Obiang, Reid, and Ogbonna was impressive - night and day compared to the end of Bilic's run

I was just about to write how threatening Palace look, and then they give up an easy set piece goal to Defoe. Though in fairness, Fosu-Mensah was fouled to give him space.

I think Bournemouth may be the dirtiest team in the league.

Edit: if there were any justice in this world, Palace would be up 3-0.

Scott Dann just set an odd record. He became the first defender to score against the same opponent four times in a row. 2-1 good guys.

I am going to have nightmares about Jermaine fucking Defoe. Just a ridiculous goal.

If you guys are looking for a fun match to watch, you could do a lot worse than this one. There must be 15 shots on goal in the first half. End to end game.

Spurs had their way with Stoke, who offered nothing.

Wow, extra time pk save by Begovic on Benteke (Bour/Palace)

I can’t fucking believe it. Palace get a penalty in stoppage time and instead of Mr Automatic Milivojevic, Benteke lines up from the spot and just makes a goddamn hash of it. Jesus fuck. What was Roy thinking?

Especially given Milovojević’s unsavable pen from earlier in the match... Yeesh
I get trying to get Benteke’s confidence back. You don’t do it then. I am 100% certain Luka would have converted. I was almost equally as certain that Benteke’s attempt was going to look as unconvincing it did.

I really hope those two points aren’t the difference at the end of the season, because that was completely their fault and completely something they could control.

God it’s frustrating following this team.

Yes, finally a convincing win over an inferior team that they have seemingly been allergic to over the last month. A wonder what a little rest for some key players over the week does.

Welp I thought it was Hodgson’s decision to send Benteke out. It was Benteke’s.

He better score like 5 goals on Tuesday, and I never want to see him take another penalty for Palace.

Interesting team selection from Liverpool, Coutinho and Firmino on the bench.

Very interesting from Everton too:

-----------------------Pickford--------------------------
----Kenny----Williams---Holgate----Martina-----
------------------------Gueye---------------------------
----DCL----Rooney-----Davies------Gylfi---------
-------------------------Niasse-------------------------

With all of this, the wildcard has to be the weather- snow is expected, so this might be the footy equivalent of yesterday's Army-Navy game - a grind-it-out affair where speed would be wasted.

I am very much not a fan of Martina - this fixture screams out for Jags' experience and steadiness, and Martina's sole attribute (?) is pace - but otherwise I like it. Niasse is the perfect player for bad weather conditions - what makes his suspension so funny is that his goals are of the stay-on-your-feet-and-walk-it-into-the-net-while-three-guys-hack-you variety.

Rotation because of the CL game.

I'm sure some Liverpool supporters would rather rotate in some other fixture, but Chelsea's stars looked bad yesterday.

Mane slipped in the box.

Snow is heavier. Not sticking yet but footing looks bad.

If you’re going to park the bus, that was a decent effort. No real good chances or quality until the Salah goal and the last chance that should have been a goal. Everton kept shape and were not the shambles they were earlier this season. Of course it’s hard to sustain and Salah is red hot and his goal was excellent.

The lack was in the counterattack. If you’re going to play long ball the outlet balls have to be better. This is a supposed strength of Pickford but he was terrible- badly over hitting several balls.

I don’t expect to get any points here, although of course I want some. Liverpool are well the better team and Everton haven’t gelled yet. That they are not a disaster is considerable improvement. Still they need to do better or it will end 3-0 is my guess.

The longer this stays 1-0, the more likely of a sucker punch off the counter. Have had a couple more chances, they need to make one count.

Would agree if they had any decent outlet pass play at all but it’s been awful

It looked like he shoved him in the back from where the ref was., but agree that it was really soft.

Why can’t we get guys who sink penalties like that :(

Disagree. Left arm full extension shove in the back. Looks iffy from the front but not the back.

Even Philip Neville thought it was soft, and he's not exactly supportive of Liverpool in general...
I understand but I don’t see how it’s not a foul when he plants his hand in the numbers, pushes, gets full arm extension, sends him down.

I think it's the types of play that sometimes is given, sometimes it isn't and you can't really complain either way.

We really have to do something about defense. Our attack is world class and its let down.

Lovren shouldn't have given DCL the opportunity to dive in the first place.

A lot of the blame for the draw has to be placed on Mané for a level of selfishness you don't often see out of this side. Not squaring that ball with Salah and Oxlade-Chamberlain looking at tap-ins is inexcusable

OK, saw it again.

Not even close to full extension. Lovren's arm was bent 90 degrees at the elbow when Calvert-Lewin fell down.
