As an American and fairly big hockey fan, I have no idea what this is (and am refusing to click on the video). I guess the “19—93” chants are getting to our friends up north ?

See that means nothing to any of us. I have explained it before. If you are a Canadian fan you have an NHL team, and many/most Canadian pick a team based on a friend/uncle/local guy who played for that team and pass it on to their kids. I was a Bruins fan before Sox or Celtics. Most Canadian fans revelin the droughts of the Habs, Leafs, Canucks, Oilers. Canda still has the most players. The inability of Canadian franchises to win the Cup bothers people who sell advertising at TSN, but few others.

Now that the USA has tied us (at 1) in storming the Capital was a blow to our pride.

Can't believe I missed this the other day

Wife and I were in Jamaica for her sister's wedding
A whole bunch of us were provided a room to watch this game, about 20 Canadians and 2 Americans. It was a blast and nerve-wracking
The American's were good and stuck around and drank with our group all night, while we wandered around the resort, getting hammered and sporadically breaking out to a loud "O'Canada" anthem
It was a great day

Can I get you started on that?
I'd love to hear what you have to say about it. Didn't realize it was a problem for anyone, just a good Canadian story. I'd love another perspective
Sure, it's purely emotional and lacks any sane logic or reason - so "sports".
What it boils down to is that it wasn't Canada's home ice. If this centered around 2010 in Vancouver, that's cool. Your ice, do what you want; reintern Pierre Trudeau at the blue line, don't care at that point. It smacked of arrogance and was completely disrepectful.

I think this gets a pass becuase US/Canda relations are good and we Americans tend to view you as the cooky, harmless cousin that we think about every so often. The MFY took jackhammers to the new Toilet to find a David Ortiz jersey. Terrel Owens puts a football on the 50 yard line in Dallas after a touchdown and a brawl breaks out. That looney is is the Hockey Hall of Fame.

And I know Canadians care more about hockey as a whole than we Americans. After the 2010 game a friend of mine in Monteal was bent out of shape at Patrick Kane because of some post-game quote where he said he'd have trouble going back and playing with Towes. I was more annoyed at his reaction than the actual game. Jesus your team just won and now you have a problem over how an off the cuff answer came across?

Reminds me of a story when we got married in the Dominican Republic, the resort was filled with Canadians. We were at a karaoke bar one night and we asked got a spontaneous O'Canda going, it was great. Fast forward after a long night of drinking, and every building looking the same, we got locked out of our room. My buddy is like no problem, I think left the patio unlocked, so he goes around to the other side of the building to let us in. He then proceeds to come out of the room next door and was like damn, I knew I was in the wrong room when I saw a giant Canadian flag hanging above the beds...

So my question, is it a requirement to bring the flag with you to the Caribbean? :)

Makes sense. I understand where you are coming from

It's likely a requirement, although we weren't one of them. I should have though, I had a flag in my college dorm room all the time
