That was a nice game. Good to see the Bruins get back on track. But wow, Toronto kinda laid an egg. I wonder how much that night was really on Toronto being a wee bit checked out? I mean, to my eyes that was an especially ugly defensive performance by them all night, with all sorts of space left open for the Bruins to work.

I'll take it.

The B's have outscored the other top 15 teams in hockey by 25 goals. That would be tied for 9th best goal differential overall.

19-4-2 vs them overall. Crazy good.
These last two weeks of tough games against top teams in the East just reinforces my thought Tampa & Toronto would be a fun series, but the Bruins would win. Carolina has been my only concern & that was only buttressed.

I think they really struggle with Carolina if they have to face them again. Doesn’t mean they lose it like they did last year, but they scare me the most of anyone.

Getting home ice may again be important against Carolina.

I mean, I don’t know if we can really use that game for much. It was a 3rd in 4, 2nd of back-to-back, and 4th in 6, all on the road. We’ve also seen how important DeBrusk (and likely any forward) is to the makeup of the team, as without him, the lines aren’t nearly as dynamic. I think in a playoff run, Carolina’s the big hump, but let’s see how they look next meeting.

Carolina wouldn't come until the conference finals too. The path will be one of WSH/PIT/BUF/NYI/FLA, then the winner of TOR/TB, then the metro winner. Long way to go before we get there.

Nice bounce back effort and win. Toronto and Tampa is going to be quite the 1st round series. Post ASG and Bye week, we need to keep pushing to keep the #1 seed in the conference over Carolina. It will be good to have Jake back and hopefully Donny will add an impact piece. My 1st preference, Horvat is an Islander.
