All things considered, I’ll take that period. If Frederic buried that bunny he had, and doesn’t take a moronic penalty, score is reversed.

If Forbort breaks DeAngelo’s jaw tonight, I’ll consider his contract a bargain.
Forbort would get his ass kicked by DeAngelo. Hell I think Neideretter would beat him up. The guy can literally do nothing right. The only way he breaks DeAngelo’s jaw is if he has a wide open net, and misses it by 10 feet and it hits DeAngelo in the face.

I wonder if this is the first time since they won the Cup that not even a single player who was on that Cup team wasn't in the lineup. Has there been a game this season that both Marchand and Bergy haven't played?

DeAngelo should be willling to go as that hit he just delivered was similar to the McAvoy... clean that is

not a good sign when you have 3 black sweaters in the goal crease and none of them are your goalie

Patrick Leahy and Kevin Dallman aren't walking through the door to rescue this team tonight.

I realize having two of the best forwards in the entire league out would make any team look bad, but I'm starting to lean toward blowing it up again. I can't see this team getting anywhere near the Cup right now.

Blowing it up does no good who are you trading? Marchand? Pastrnak? Those are the only guys that you’re getting anything for. And do you really trust this management team to get those trades right? They’re going to add until they go to the bottom of the league, then rebuild under new management because I doubt Neely is interested in a rebuild. This Carolina team looks good right? They missed the playoffs for 9 years. That’s how long it takes to get that good.

Yes, I would trade Marchand as I've discussed before. And I absolutely agree with you that I don't want the Sweeney regime doing it, so it's kinda a moot point especially with Neely around.

I think a few years out of the playoffs might be inevitable with this team anyhow, especially if Bergeron retires. McAvoy and Pasta are young and established, but otherwise this team's future has been mortgaged already by Sweeney. The only other player that seems to have potential as a good or better NHLer is Swayman, and I'm still not confident in him.

In other words, I think continuing to chase competitive mediocrity is far more detrimental to the franchise than suffering the pains of a rebuild.
