I just don’t get not calling a timeout to set up the final shot. Everything just seemed rushed. Now Milwaukee calls a timeout to make sure everyone knows exactly what to do.

Great effort but I'm pretty mad at Joe. Stop making the same mistake over and over.

It's a lineup of backups. You can't play it out with no timeout there. Call the timeout and draw up a play for them.

#Celtics are likely gonna finish this game with two timeouts left. Should have used one there. #Bucks
Not to mention they were so exhausted they could barely stand up.

Its not Mazzulla's fault that 4/5s of the Cs entire starting lineup is out during a road game at Milwaukee. A win here would be a gift. They didn't get it and nobody should be mad imo.
It's OK to criticize him when he does things like not call a TO for the final play when he has role players who can't create their own shot and are exhausted.

I have little faith he's a good enough coach to make it through 4 rounds of the playoffs.

Not calling a TO there was inexcusable. So was Grant’s ball handling. Tough one to lose after the effort they put forth tonight

It’s a remarkably bad look to have your C squad out there and not even bother to try to draw something up.

Can’t let games slip away in the spring like this. The timeout thing will be a problem until either Joe or the team prove that it’s not.

They are doing nothing but learning shit end of game habits.
I agree, but not many C squads have 2 guards out there capable of being in closing lineups of a playoff team

Disappointing finish to a fun game, the Celts deserved a win for that effort.

I hope this game leaves the Bucks with some nagging doubts come May. Celtics bench took a healthy Bucks team to OT in Milwaukee.

These kinds of posts are embarrassing. I know it's a game thread. You took the 2 seed to overtime missing 4 starters. Lol. Have some perspective.

Crappy ending, but still encouraging. I mean, imagine if the Celtics had Tatum. Or Brown. Or Smart. Or Horford. Or more than 13 minutes of Rob Williams...

im not angry or upset because this was a game they should have lost. But the way that it happened was disappointing.
Leaving Holiday open for 3
No timeout
Grant trying to go Allen Iverson on one of the best defenders ever

I can admit that. Can you admit not calling a timeout there was not just bad but ridiculous.
I can see why a coach would want to just play it out, but that unit he had out there is not used to playing heavy heavy minutes. A nice little break there would’ve been helpful.

My takeaway is the Milwaukee needed an insane effort from Jrue Holliday, including a 70 foot heave, to beat our bench. In OT. At home. Tip of the hat and all that, but I'm looking forward to seeing them again.

Seemed like the were running a normal play. Grant at the line...pumped and slipped (or whatever he did.) I don't think he was supposed to slip.

That’s kind of a cop out for Grant. It wasn’t like he was jumped when he had the ball. He caught it, witg space, attempted a pump fake then tried to cross Giannis over
I'm not trying to excuse Grant. He had total brainlock. But given that Hauser had hit the big 3 at the end of the regulation, giving him the ball there might not have been a bad idea.

After beating the Sixers with a hospital squad and taking Milwaukee to overtime on the road with the walking fucking dead, I think it’s pretty clear who’s the best in the East. If there is such a thing as a statement loss that was it.

Brogdon sort of sneaky bad in that one. Three turnovers against only 4 assists in 39 minutes, with a stout -21 to show for it. Weirdly didn't finish a couple layups that he's normally automatic with. Doesn't seem to be 100% for sure.

It’s a general commentary. They’ve had the same shit happen with the starters playing.

80 of the Bucks 131, 0.69%(giddy) came from their big 3. I'd expect more from Middleton and less from Holiday, but that was their big 3 playing probably near its output total

Bucks almost got toasted by a team absent the best scoring duo and best defensive player in the league. That’ll be in the back of their heads the rest of the season.

I don’t think so. Will be more in the heads of their fans than the actual players. Many of these guys are champions and will be ready to go in the playoffs.

And when they did have them on Christmas they got run out of the Garden. Not saying they won’t be a tough out but anyone pretending it’s a coin flip is full of shit.

Despite my criticism of the coaching and Grant on the last play, just a fucking great game by the shorthanded C's tonight.

Really.. is anyone arguing that?
No. Nobody is arguing that. Mazzulla lost the game. Does that make anyone feel better?

No?

Its because you all know too much. One person doesn't win or lose games. Its virtually impossible.

And imo, more than a few people complaining about timeouts are embarrassing themselves because they are showing they don't understand hoops. Not @ you but let's be honest. Most people are complaining to complain about one of the best teams in the league.

I'll buy the "give them a rest" point. But Im guessing players know the plays.
No TO doesn't let the defense get set or the Bucks make changes. I suspect that plays a role in the decision.

What is this junk? The fact that you feel the need to defend Joe every single time anyone brings up his TO usage is just strange IMO. And unless you bring some credentials to the table I'm not sure why you feel ok constantly telling other people what they're thinking is 'embarrassing' or that they don't know hoops etc. Unless you played pro or something I'm not sure why you feel the need to talk down to people.

Pretty amazing that Muscala's 3 attempt was really the only bad shot they took late 4th and OT.

Why have a coach at all.
