When I saw Booker was out (again), I expected an easy win for the C's tonite. Looks like they did too.

I miss Marcus Smart. Hopefully he'll be back Wednesday for the Sixers' visit to Boston.

They have struggled in several games with key players out for the opponent. It happens.

A totally flat, sloppy effort tonight leads to a well deserved loss. Tatum was complete garbage all game long.

The game was there for the taking at the start of the fourth quarter, and the C's fell apart.

that's exactly where he'll fit in. He'll get an NBA cold shoulder like Marcus received in RFA
It’s interesting to think that if a team is sufficiently well constructed, they may gain an advantage by having the “right” fit players ny worth more to them than other teams. Some of Belichick’s Patriots teams had that phenomenon going on as well. It’s like getting sideways discounts or something. Which is, of course, awesome.

Would rather see Marcus back after the All-Star break, no need to rush things.

So, has the league just figured out how to defend grant or is he going through something?
He runs hot and cold like every role player before him.

He is going to need a big playoff showing to get what he thinks is coming to him this summer.

NBA always throws around stupid money but I don’t see bad teams overpaying for a guy who is only good if he is no more than your 5th or 6th best player and has no real path to becoming more than that.

Only made 9 shots in the entire Finals last year. Will need to be the Mr. Big Shot he was against Milwaukee’s awful yield-the-three defense.

It may only matter to me but this game aside, I simply don't get the Grant Williams criticisms unless we are talking pure counting stats.

The guy has been hugely efficient of late after cooling from a hot December. He isn't going to put up a ton of points, especially on this team. I'd be interested in hearing how a guy with Grant's physical profile who can credibly guard most positions and has ~63% TS while shooting ~40% from deep and has fits on lots of teams from contenders to culture builders isn't going to have a healthy market. Aren't all teams looking for these types of players in perpetuity?

Woke up angry about this game. How the Cs lose by double digits to that lineup while winning the free-throw battle by 17 is really hard to understand.

They gave up 10 offensive rebounds while acquiring just three of their own, including zero by TimeLord. And they lost the turnover battle by 6, so that's 13 extra possessions for the Suns, I guess. Suns took 20 more shots.

Tatum and Al went a combined 4-21, which doesn't help.

Just a terrible loss at home. I get we're in the NBA doldrums, but the Cs should not have lost this game. A gentleman named Damion Lee, who at 30 years old has only played 270 games in the NBA, was a +30 in this game.

Of course, but for $20+ mil or whatever he is asking for?

I was at the game last night - and watched Grant come off the floor for good around the 6-minute mark of the 4th quarter.

He was clearly pissed at himself for how he played.

That kid is a solid 'glue guy' that is mature beyond his years and expects plenty from himself.

I'll agree that $20M annually for 5 or something like that would be a bit silly on "this" team....

But $12-14M annually for 3 or 4 years is just about right and would be perfect for the Celtics IMO.

If he wants to just get paid and head to one of a dozen other venues to receive an overpay --- have it at...we can wish him luck.

But any ill-will towards him - on this roster, for this team, is foolish. He's developed into a fantastic role player - despite the awful results from last night.
