Given that yesterday was ACC Media Day, I figured now was a good time to kick off the discussion of the upcoming season. BC was picked right in the middle of the pack (8th) which seems fair, although I think I may have had them a spot or two higher (over MD for example). Given the team's finish last year, the fact that the entire starting five returns (including ACC FOY Olivier Hanlan) and the additions of Drago and Magarity, I think it's fair to expect this team to make the tournament assuming no major injuries. I say this even with Clifford being a question mark. He had surgery on both knees and is expected back by December 1. If he can contribute that would be a huge benefit given the length he adds on both ends but I make this prediction without relying on Clifford's presence.
In past years I have started this thread with a list of question marks. Not this year. This team is now full of experience and talent. Olivier is a legit talent and I expect even bigger things from him. Odio is up to 209 lbs and has added some muscle. Drago is in great shape and looks to be a real player. Brey's comments about him at yesterday's media day (we didn't want to lose him and now we have to face him twice) are encouraging. Anderson is solid and with better shooting on the perimeter his game should open up more.
The schedule is a beast. ESPN and other outlets have already noted BC's schedule as one of the toughest in the country. While it's not loaded with worldbeaters, it is filled with some tough teams and many neutral/road games. Depending upon how the 2K Classic progresses, the schedule could upgrade more.
It should be a fun year. Anything less than being on the bubble will be an immense disappointment in my opinion.
