2013 Seattle Seahawks - SUPER BOWL CHAMPS!

A dominant 13-3 Niners team could barely beat a bad 7-9 Seahawks team in Seattle in 2011. The last two times they've been there they've been massacred. The Niners don't pass for a lot of yards anyway and the Seahawks have the secondary to stuff the box and still shut down the passing game with man coverage. I don't see the Niners winning a playoff rematch this year.

Disappointing loss to the Niners, 19-17.  That prevents Seattle from winning the division and being one win away from clinching the #1 seed.  Now with a win at the Giants Sunday and losses by NO and SF means they clinch the division AND the #1 seed.  NO does have to go to St. Louis to take on the furious pass rush of the Rams, but SF gets to travel to the directionless Buccaneers.

Richard is never at a loss for words.
But he forgot to mention Anquan Bolden set up the touchdown that put the Niners up 16-14 with a 27-yard reception while wearing Richard as a cape.
Sherman was flagged for holding but the penalty was declined.

Hey Danooo - I guess you don't want the Seahawks to make the Super Bowl?

I want them to WIN the Super Bowl.

The Super Bowl is a neutral site, not a road game.

Hawks owned the Giants 23-0 in their house.  I hope they make a return trip in February.

The offense sucked ass, as the O-line in particular did not play well, allowing 4 sacks of Wilson, plus plenty of pressure at other times.  The defense, on the other hand, played their best game of the year.  They gave up only 181 total yards, 100 of that in the 4th quarter after the game was pretty much in hand.

The punt team allowed 1 4-yard punt return, increasing their total yards allowed on punt returns for the season to 19.

They end the season with two games at home against division rivals St. Louis and Arizona.  One win clinches the division and home field throughout the NFC.

Brandon Browner's appeal was denied so he is likely going to sue the NFL.  It'll be interesting to see if the case makes it to court.  My guess is that this will be settled quietly in the offseason, so that the league doesn't take the chance of letting it go to trial.  He'll get credit for time served (despite being injured) and he'll be able to sign elsewhere, although it will be interesting where he'd end up in the drug program since that seems to be his biggest point of contention.

On the field, he'll be missed, but with Lane and Maxwell both stepping up since he and Walter Thurmond were suspended for marijuana usage, it isn't as big of a deal for the Hawks.  There's no chance he's coming back next year, with Thurmond having a breakthrough year (and being a FA as well, so Schneider and Carroll were likely choosing between the two) and Lane/Maxwell looking like the next generation next to Sherman.

Not much to say after Sunday's debacle, but after the 49ers miracle, the Seahawks better come ready to play Sunday. Don't want to Coug It and blow the top seed.

I'm hoping Sunday's loss was a nice wakeup call, but it's a bit late in the season for those.

Great use of Coug It given their recent bowl loss

Finally clinched the division and the NFC #1 seed with a 27-9 win over the pesky St. Louis Rams after the loss to Arizona 17-10 last week which broke the 14 game home winning streak.

Now it's time for a week off and then a Divisional Playoff game at home on Saturday January 11th at 4:30 PM ET.

Apparently Harvin will practice this week and plans are for him to play in the Divisional Round. That would be spectacular for the offense.

And they survive, 23-15 over the Saints and will get to host the Niners/Panthers winner next Sunday.

The offense needs to get their collective heads out of their asses to keep winning.  They can't keep leaning on the defense.

Congrats DanoooME and wibi. It's been a glorious season that hopefully ends in another win.

No kidding.  I don't know if I can live through another one of these.  I will probably be watching the game alone.  I was stressing my wife out with my reactions to this game.  She thinks she's going to her cousin's house that day.  And I don't think I can go to a bar or a friend's house.

I got yelled at right after Lynch's run because my 7-month old daughter had just gone down for a nap. I tried to explain this was more important - and she agreed it was if it involved the Cowboys winning, but at the moment I was just in trouble.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to two weeks from now.

LOL, did you ask her if Romo ever won a game like that?

Clearly the best team in the NFL - no doubts or questions. Congrats. Will be interesting to see how they deal with all of their relatively young free agents over the next few years.

...and the 49ers clearly the 2nd-best team in the NFL.  A few breaks and they might have taken the NFC.  A few breaks for Denver, and they lose by a mere 20.

Congrats, Danoo and Wibi (and others) -- dominating, dominating performance. As a 49er fan, it stings to wonder "what if" but no way the 49ers defense (esp. the secondary) comes close to the job LOB did tonight.

It's funny, while watching the game tonight I totally thought a handful of times tonight about reading Dano's Seahawks thread a few years ago and thinking damn, I'd almost forgotten what it's like to be rooting for a team in no man's land. Well, how quickly and impressively this franchise turned its situation around. We're looking at one of the best teams the NFL has seen in a long time - crazy to say it but it's almost lost in the shuffle tonight how excellent Russell Wilson played once he settled down a couple possessions into the game.

2000 Ravens-esque defense with a relatively unheralded but great offense. The only real star power in the Harvin/Baldwin/Tate/Kearse/Miller crew is in one of the more fragile guys in the NFL but that unit came up enormous tonight. Congrats to the Seahawks fans in here, really fun team to watch this year and all the reason to think they'll continue to be awesome going forward.

First, congrats to the SeaChickens, their fans and their players. Great effort, great game. Winning feels good.

However, there is a down side to winning....

Start preparing yourselves for the PED Brigade, coming to Seattle very soon. Because the doubt/question that is going to dominate the Seahawks reign will concern the number and type of PED suspensions and 'just what was behind Seattle's success'?

The good news is that drugs are way more societally acceptable than video taping.

Chances are the next installment will be the Thursday night NFL opener in Seattle. Better getcha earplugs ready now.

I hope not.  Those are teams are too good and that game is too exciting for it to be the first game of the season.  I'd be much more excited to watch a San Fran/Seattle matchup a few weeks into the season, once the teams have found some rythm and built up some endurance.  I fear that you are right though and the NFL will go for maximum eyeballs on the first game of the year vs. giving us a better on field product several weeks later.

I'd also like them to delay those two division games until the back half the season, it will add a lot more intrgue into who is going to win that division.

I think they save that game for later in the season.  They have an incredible home slate next year.  I could see Green Bay, NYG, Cowboys.  Doubt they would play Denver there, probably save that for SNF.

Cowboys, Giants, Broncos, Raiders, G.B., San Fran, St. Louis, Arizona

First off, Congratulations to Dano and all the Seahawks fans..You guys played a great game and proved a worthy champion. Out of all those teams I think the networks save the 49ers games for later in the year. They defintley don't want a Super Bowl rematch so soon in the season.  Arizona and St. Louis although improved don't draw enough eyeballs to the set. The Raiders and Giants suck meaning it will come down to a choice between the Cowboys and Green Bay. I think it will be Green Bay since they are a popular team with a well known qb who made the playoffs this year.

That is an excellent picture.

I'm late to the party, but congrats to DanoooMe, Wibi, and the rest of the Seahawks SoSH contingent.  That was an awesome thing to behold, what the defense did last night.
