huge yeah he gets hurt etc etc but in manning system can pass protect so well while M Ball is a better RB i do not know if monte can pass protect well or stay on the field for all 3 downsDan to Theo to Ben said:how big of a loss do you think Moreno will be?
Manning will drop some no doubt and i think that and the poor or embarrassed SB Loss drove elway to make these moves the only loss so far is Moreno Decker was our 4th option D Thomas Welker 3rd down and J Thomas Beattles was our 4th or 5th best OL if Ware is Healthy he should get 10-12 sacks DRC was more up/down than the MSM Thought and elway was pissed that he was hinting rem during SB WeekSox and Rocks said:Here's my question about Denver: have they really improved this offseason? Don't get me wrong, Ware, Talib, and Ward are excellent football players, and Ward is an upgrade at SS, no doubt about it. But Ware and Talib have big shoes to fill in Phillips and DRC. The question isn't whether Ware and Talib will be better than Phillips and DRC in 2014, as I think they will. The question is will they provide more for Denver than Phillips and DRC did last year, when both played at an exceptionally high leve?. It seems like Denver paid a premium to get a better guaranteed return at those positions in 14, but they didn't necessarily improve at either position.
Of course, Denver doesn't really have to improve. They were the best team in the AFC last year, and with a ton of injuries, too, so simply maintaining that level will put them at or near the top of the AFC. But they have also lost some important pieces elsewhere (Moreno, Decker, Beattles) where regression is possible, and at some point Manning's age will catch up to him.
yeah Denver will not get home field could go 0-4 aga the NFC West 5-1 or 4-2 aga the AFC West a loss to NE and maybe a loss to indySox and Rocks said:Another factor to keep in mind, and one that never seems to be calculated into these types of discussions but should be, is how much better the rest of the division will be. KC overachieved last year but lost some important pieces. SD came on towards the end of the season and could be better next year. Oakland has made a lot of improvements and has nowhere to go but up. This is important because even if Denver is still the best team in the division, and they probably are, if the division is improved enough that Denver loses 1-2 additional divisional games, it could cost them a bye and homefield advantage for the playoffs. Also, the fact that they play the NFC West instead of the NFC East could result in an extra loss or two as opposed to last year.
on Phillips asking him to get 10 Sacks again would be hardSox and Rocks said:Here's my question about Denver: have they really improved this offseason? This is over140 characters.j-man said:the Reason i favor NE this year and i told my Broncos SB Blog this they disagree but
Your 2 big moves signed Revis Browner were meant just for Denver passing attack
Browner is a touch overrated but aga Denver he is the type of cb that gives us fits
U Are the only AFC Team that can match up now aga our WR with Arrington and ryan as nicker and dime CB
plus u have a much more manageable Sch arrowhead could be tougher than u guys think esp if u get them before Week 8
the only way Denver gets home field is winning 13 and winning @ ne

On offense, unless they are releasing massive amounts of greenhouse gases and hoping to raise winter temperatures, I'll take the under on next year's AFCCG game-time temperature. The Super Bowl did nothing to dent my Manning Can't Play In Cold Weather theory.

well in 15 the cap should be 145 mil give or take we have 6 mil in room let assume welker gone that 8 mil Free Tramme and Dreenen will be gone that 5 more mil so denver should have 30-35 mil or so to play with well D Thomas will take 10-12 mil off J Thomas will take 9-10 mil off so there goes about 22 mil just on those 2 even if manning takes a pay cut it will only be 3-5 mil then denver can keep 1 maybe 2 of these 3 C Harris CB Plob will cost 5 y 45 mil O Franklin and R Moore will be gone also FA after 14 and plod V Miller can stay away from the herb Elway will lock him up after 15 Denver will use the 5th year opinion on him keeping him around for at least 2 more yearsdbn said:
In general, I'm wary of the "this is why we lost the SB" thinking to motivate off-season priorities. Denver won 13 times in the regular season and the AFC championship with that OL. If they win the AFC next year, there is a very good chance they don't play SEA again in the SB.
The obvious opposing view is that teams that make the playoffs/SB are more likely to have a good pass rush than a mediocre one. I guess this is a roundabout way of agreeing that they should prioritize the OL, but not necessarily because it helped them lose the SB. Rather, because I think the OL is the most important unit on any team and always should be prioritized.
On a completely separate note, do you - or anyone else here - know much about the Broncos contract situations vis-a-vis their likelihood to be competitive past next year (assuming they have a functional Manning or a capable replacement)?

Under the league policy that was installed back in 2011, players “are not permitted to participate in … group or individual meetings with coaches” until the offseason workout programs officially begin. The rule falls under Article 21, Section 2(a)(ii).
if manning gets fined it will be small he knows that barring a major surprise NE will be his main roadblock for another sb appsoxfan121 said:Peyton Manning attending a meeting with Nick Saban is only a violation of NFL rules if Peyton is not a coach for the Broncos.
But I'm sure the NFL will be doing everything properly to address this rules violation and Goodell will be getting out his Wheel of Fines any minute now.
The violation wouldn't be Manning's meeting with Saban, but Manning accompanying his OC, Adam Gase, in meeting with Saban. In another article linked to this one, there's a possibility that Gase was meeting with Saban, and Manning decided to join them.soxfan121 said:Peyton Manning attending a meeting with Nick Saban is only a violation of NFL rules if Peyton is not a coach for the Broncos.
