But, alas, not enough for Kam Chancellor.

Kam got a new deal two years ago that is holding up well to the current going market rate for SS.  Kam, at best, is going to get a little more guaranteed money but he wont be getting a raise.

Word out of Seattle this morning is that Wilson took a bit less money (exact amount not disclosed) to allow Seattle to sign Bobby Wagner to his extension.   Rodgers is Wilson's agent and made this quote to KOMO news in Seattle this morning

His agent is completely full of shit. That said, he did a great job getting Wilson what he deserved. But the idea that money was left on the table is laughable.

First two pass plays, Von Miller is chewing up and spitting out Justin Britt.  And Jimmy Graham is "blocking" on the other side.  This is not looking good.

3rd and goal, all 4 defensive rushers get through the 5 guys on the line and sack Wilson.  Evan Mathis, want to come to Seattle cheaply for a good shot at a ring?

Tyler Lockett has already locked down the return man jobs it looks like.

LOL and got flagged for it.

And the next kickoff was returned by the 4th string QB BJ Daniels for over 30 yards and he almost broke that one too.  Daniels is a hell of an athlete, but I don't know if that says more about him or the Denver return unit.

After the first team O-line debacle over the weekend, changes are underfoot.  RT Justin Britt was moved to LG replacing Alvin Bailey.  And Garry Gilliam comes in at RT.  Anything has to be an improvement at this point.  When Britt was drafted it was said it was possible he could end up at G.  It'll be interesting to see if this becomes permanent.

It would be very, very difficult to explain to me how I am supposed to consider a Wilson a good Christian when he does something that immoral.

This really sorta pisses me off.

Yes, Russell the magic water healed your concussion instantly.  Somehow, I think this guy might be losing his grip on reality.
Wilson reminds me of Jeter so much and is basically the sports version of Taylor Swift - a vapid and completely contrived person whose fans are only slightly more delusional about his greatness than his haters are about his suckitude. It's not his talent that is questionable(if one is being reasonable) it's his genuineness. Fuck him and his holy boy/ pitchman persona, especially in this case where he's selling snake oil to stupid people, particularly kids who might play through injures because of his holy water.

He....

1. Blames the 4 interceptions in the NFC Championship Game on God.

2. Regularly speaks with God.

3. Thinks he can play major league baseball despite not playing four years and only hitting .229 in two seasons of A Ball.

4. Dates Ciara, one of the hottest chicks in the entertainment business....and refuses to have sex with her.

So yeah....I think he's dumb and/or off his rocker.

Russell Wilson isn't the only QB who has touted the concussion healing powers of magic water.

From PFT:
Patriots quarterback Tom Brady previously endorsed a product called "NeuroSafe," which allegedly "protects your brain from the consequences of sports-related traumatic brain injury."

An ad for NeuroSafe shows Brady holding the Vince Lombardi Trophy and attributes to Brady a quote saying, "NeuroSafe makes me feel comfortable that if I get a concussion I can recover faster and more fully. There is no other solution on the market today that can do what NeuroSafe does. It's that extra level of protection that gives me comfort when I'm out on the field."

Despite Brady's endorsement, NeuroSafe appears to have gone out of business years ago. Its website no longer exists and its Facebook page hasn't been updated since 2011.

Here's to hoping TB12 was just naive about concussions at the time and has since come to his senses. Otherwise it's a pretty bad look, one that I have trouble explaining away. Granted the ad's 4+ years old, but it's not as if concussions/CTE weren't at the forefront of the NFL's issues in 2011.

On one hand:  nobody should support products that amount to snake oil and promote quackery.

On the other: pro athletes are not always the brightest, and in this particular case it must be appealing for them to believe that, amidst all the bad shit being discovered about concussions, there is this substance that can help ward that bad shit off.

At the end of the day, though, there's not much to separate this from the baseball players that wear those stupid magnetic necklaces.

That's some masterful copywriting right there (I assume Brady didn't actually say any of this). There's no actual claim that the snake oil actually helps you recover from concussions - it just "makes [Brady] feel comfortable" that it will. The only medical claim explicitly ascribed to the quackery is "comfort."

That's hilarious.  Drink our sugar water for it's placebo effect (a great value at $5 a bottle).

Ultimately, Brady said he "feels" that the product would help him recover from a possible concussion.  Russell said his product provided a total recovery from a concussion AND his teammate had a total recovery from his knee issues.  Significant difference there. Brady is just doing the advertising thing and expressing confidence in the product he is a spokesperson for. Wilson is stating this all happened as fact which is completely out there.

They're not the same thing.  Wilson's statement is more explicit and Brady's designed to avoid FDA intervention.  However both statements are stupid and Brady and Wilson should both run away from those claims.

Yes, both statements are ridiculous.  I'm not twisting myself into a pretzel.  One statement was explicit in it's claims and one isn't.  I don't see why that's a hard distinction to figure out.  Brady, absolutely, should retract the endorsement and say something like "Yeah, that doesn't make any sense.  My bad."

Edit:  Or what Shelterdog said

Oh, cut the shit.

One statement was written out, edited, analyzed by teams of marketing/sales/lawyers, and put onto paper for publication. We're going to credit Brady for that? The other statement was off the top of the head during a Rolling Stones interview, and was quickly rectified by Wilson's agent in the hopes of being less explicit. I'm sure Wilson's agent made it clear after the interview to approach the next spot with more ambiguity. I don't see why that's a hard distinction to figure out.

Edit: In other words, Russell came up a yard short of Brady again.

It's not shit.  It's reading comprehension. Wilson was more stupider--although there but for the grace of god (who should have fucking warned Wilson) goes Brady.

Wilson also made the mistake of doubling down on his follow up tweet.

Now, they are both silly.

However, one has easily set himself up from a knock on his door from the FTC (and potentially the FDA), and it's not Brady.

So yes there is a demonstrative difference, but no it doesn't stop them both from being stupid in regards to what this water can do.

Proving once again that before you make the "burn it down" joke, one should Google location + fire, just to be sure one is not metaphorically lighting one's self on fire.

Stage 2 fire restrictions in effect:

What are STAGE 2 Fire Restrictions? STAGE 2 Fire Restrictions help land management agencies reduce fire risk and prevent wildfires during periods of high to extreme fire danger. PROHIBITIONS • No building, maintaining, attending or using open fire, campfires or stove fires. • No smoking unless in an enclosed vehicle or building, a developed recreation site, or within a three foot diameter cleared to mineral soil. • No operation welding, acetylene, or other torch with an open flame. • No operation or using any internal or external combustion engine without a spark arresting device properly installed, maintained and in effective working order. EXEMPTIONS • Persons with a permit specifically authorizing the prohibited act or omission. • Resident owners and leasers of land within the restricted area are exempt from above restriction provided such fires are within the residence. • Any Federal, State or Local Officer or member of an organized firefighting force in the performance of an official duty. *A stove fire is defined as a campfire built inside an enclosed stove or grill, portable brazier, or a pressurized liquid or gas stove, including a spaceheating device.

It is recommended people stay indoors.  It's really unhealthy out there.

MT, ID and WA are in state of emergency and there are not nearly enough fire fighters to battle all the fires. Land Management offices are taking volunteers off the street to help fight the fires. It pays extremely well for obvious reasons. The National Guard has been called in to help.  It's bad and no sign of rain or relief.

After September 10, I can volunteer.  2 week on, 3 days off,  2 weeks on before volunteers must take a week off. Last I heard it's over $3K for 2 weeks of work.  Remember, though, it's basically 24 hours a day in very dangerous places. 3 fire fighters have died this season and we have another 6+ weeks.

Even crazier is they are using active duty soldiers for the first time in nine years. And they are bringing firefighters in from as far away as New Zealand and Australia because the West is tapped out.
