Started a new thread for 2016.

Everyone please feel free to start new threads whenever. It's a lot easier for us to merge them if they should be merged than to split them.

I literally cannot get enough of the pre-season Ryan boasting followed by the inevitable defeats and whining. It just never gets old for me.

People say, “well, he hasn’t beat them [nine out of the last 10] tries.” Yeah, well, he has beat the hell out of that offense.
Glad he believes this myth too. They're averaging about 29 points a game over the last 5 years against Rex.

Pats Points Per Game:
40, 20, 17, 27, 13, 27, 29, 49, 30, 37

Rex really gets them good!

"The name Ryan means something. If you are a fan of the Buffalo Bills, thank your lucky stars he is here, and myself." - Rex on Rob

Rex is right, just not sure it really means what he thinks it means at this point.

Paging @Smiling Joe Hesketh His head is going to explode when he reads this.

This has some juicy quotes in it too.

http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2016/05/26/rob-rex-ryan-buffalo-bills-interview-nfl

I just adore the juxtaposition in these two paragraphs:

"But I know one thing, we are going to beat them. We are together, we're going to beat the best. It's two against one. Him one-on-one against any coach in the league, that guy is pretty damn good. And he's also got his best buddy Tom Brady with him. He trained him, and he single-handedly made him great as well."

Rex is 4-11 against New England, including the playoffs, since taking over as the New York Jets' coach in 2009. Overall, the Bills are 4-28 against Belichick since he became the Patriots' coach in 2000.
Yeah, the name Ryan means something, buddy: boasting followed by disappointment and underachieving, followed by finger-pointing at others, followed by getting fired.

I will mourn the day he's fired for the last time as a head coach. SJH's railing against him are some of my favorite BBTL posts. Hopefully after that happens Rex goes into broadcasting so we continue to hear his football wisdom on a weekly basis.

The Summer of the Ryan Brothers continues...

The Buffalo News said coach Rex Ryan hasn't talked to Henderson since last season and teammates haven't heard much from him either. Ty Dunne of the Buffalo News wrote that some Bills players "aren’t sure when or if he’ll be back." Henderson's battle with Crohn’s disease is cited by Dunne as a likely reason he hasn't been heard from.

“I can’t really recall talking to him,” Ryan said. “I think he has been in since then but I haven’t talked to him personally.”

Washington area football fans are happy to cede the Championship belt they have worn consistently since May 1999.

Here
Their 1st round pick and their best receiver got injured this offseason, but sure, they won it.

When Rex Ryan burps a little bit of feces pops out.
They also started the offseason over the cap and added basically nobody to the roster, while at least two other rosters in the division improved, and probably all 3 when Fitz caves.

I want to thank @SumnerH for the brilliantly funny thread title, which makes me giggle each and every time this thread is bumped.

Rex thinks this is the year to restore the Ryan name legacy:

"“Obviously, our family name is huge,” Rob told the Buffalo News. “You see those Top 10 things (on NFL Network) and Ryans are always a top-10 family . . . those Mannings are hard to beat out of the No. 1 spot. I think they might be there a while."

Editing to add this tweeted photo which seems a bit creepy in that they are wearing matching outfits, like their Mother dressed them.

Potential serious knee injury for second round LB Reggie Ragland. Signed old friend Brandon Spikes.

Sounds a lot like the Dion Lewis injury in that they're saying all kinds of stuff about not being sure of ligament damage, needing a second opinion, when, IIRC, our own $10 doctor says you know it's an ACL or MCL right away essentially every time.

So Percy Harvin retires? What a mess. I looked at other threads and didn't see it posted already.

Edit by SumnerH: split off a 2016 thread from http://sonsofsamhorn.net/index.php?threads/2015-bills-go-rex-go.7296/
Who can name the best active NFL player from the 2008 national champion Florida Gators? Hint: it's not Percy Harvin, Riley Cooper, Tim Tebow, Aaron Hernandez, Jeff Demps, Chris Rainey, Brandon Spikes, or even Janoris Jenkins, Carlos Dunlap, or Joe Haden.

Ragland out for the season. Which is too bad for the young man but awesome for Rex watchers because now we know one of his excuses he's going to mention 30 times this year after saying he's not making excuses for the team.

The Bills might have one of the poorer groups of coverage linebackers in the NFL. Watching 1-on-1 passing drills with RBs/TEs against LBs, and Zach Brown only LB hanging tight. Randell Johnson got put on his feet by Boom Herron; Brandon Spikes got juked by FB Jerome Felton.

That won't be problematic against their chief rival

So isn't that two guys who are suspended for the first 4 games, along with Karlos Williams? One more should even things up for Jimmy G in week 4.

Bills team statement on OLB Manny Lawson: "We are aware of an investigation by the NFL under the Personal Conduct Policy but we have not heard from the league regarding the results."

How many words was that waste of fluff space? 8000? That's almost as much worthless hot air as the Ryan boys blow daily.

Offseason champs, regular season chumps. These guys are only in it for themselves.
