In a game where they should have been working on all things passing game, they ran it 56 times and threw 20.

Way to go, Daz. Overpowering a joke opponent will really develop these kids' skills.

No surprise Daz had basically said after last week was the problem was they weren't really committing to the run game, and needed to pound the rock. The sad part is this was one of the worst teams in FCS, and BC really still struggled running against them

Towles remains very mediocre at best, Got the one long bomb to Smith. Play works against UMass and Wagner with FCS level DB's not so much against VT or teams with decent QB. Got a score late on a very poorly thrown WR screen

Didn't watch the game but saw photos of the massive crowd at Alumni today. Bear in mind this "opponent" played St Anselm and Concordia of Minn prior to this game today. The scheduling is so pathetic. Why play an FCS team in game 4 of the season? What does this accomplish. If you have to play them it should be game 1 or at latest game 2. The point of this game is to "soft open" the season. This does nothing to help your program at any level. And to think they had recruits at this fiasco today. Unless they get no other offers these kids will be playing elsewhere in the fall. Nice job Brad. Keep it up Daz.

They claim attendance was 22k, we had the over/under before the game at 15k and I'd say 15k was close..

I was listening to Tony Kornheiser's podcast the other day and someone who picks on the show, said Buffalo was getting 20 today from ARMY. He said Buffalo was the worst team in D1 nice scheduling, then again I think it's parents weekend so that will mean a good crowd. The buttercups (students) were there in force for the first half, disappeared in the second.

Game was a total fucking bore, Daz kept running it up the gut on 1st down for little to no gain. What a fucking dope

To be fair, BC would probably lay a touchdown to the Cadets this season.

We all know it is because they can't possibly win 6 games in a year against FBS opponents, even though they have dumnbed their FBS OOC opponents down as far as possible this year.

It used to be BC would play a new england FCS team rotating between UMass, URI, UNH, MAine. It was important for the region, and they helped fund the local programs. But now after Howard last year, we have the Wagner mess this year. Basically scheduling from the very bottom of the FCS level. It is just beyond embarrassing

Mike is right, about the GDF memorial 'good for new England'. Game and the more that I think about it the reason for Wagner in the 4th week is all because of the GT trip to Dublin. If not for that the game would've been played in front of an even smaller crowd on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend.
Bill Flynn upgraded the program by playing anyone anywhere anytime scheduling Texas/ND/Stanford/Bama in the 70s and 80s. We were Bosie State before there was a Bosie State. That's why the dumbed down out of conference schedule is a disgrace.

Addazio doesn't even have class. Up 28-3 with a minute to go inside Buffalo 10 and they don't take a knee.

35-3 eagles

As you get ready for the game tonight, interesting interview with Jags from the guys at BC Interruption. Claims he loved recruiting ?!? and regrets the whole Jets fiasco. Claims he would still be the HC today had he not taken that interview. Any way, I find it interesting he is talking now. ( he took a leave of absence from his OC job at Ga State because of medical issues with his daughter). Says Spaz was a good coordinator but never should have been a HC. Says when he left, there were 2 guys on the staff who should have been selected over Daz (Logan and/or Jackie Bicknell) and an interesting, yet universally accepted, view of Charlie Weis.

He claims he would have the current program turned around in 3 years, guaranteed. Looks like he might want to come back. Question of the day.....would you bring him back, looking at the current state of the program and what Jags was all about. For me?, probably not only because both sides have moved on and the school and Jags are not what they were 10 years ago. Outside of Petrino, most coaching 2.0s don't get to the same levels of consistency as the first time around (Johnny Majors at Pitt, John Robinson at USC, Mike Riley at Oregon State, Bill Snyder at KSU, to name a few). But it would be interesting that's for sure.

The program seemed to suffer when O'Brien's recruits left and his came in. Of course, he can claim they weren't well coached (because for the most part they played for Spaz), at least on the offensive side of the ball.

He says he had little to do with the recruiting class of 2007 and the class of 2008 was his. So it begs the question, how much of an impact, really, did he have on the program? 2 years as HC and one recruiting class is his resume. I would say he coached Toby's kids and was fired in Dec 2008 so the 2009 class was affected to a degree. Overall I think if you realistically look at it, it was a net negative relative to the whole program impact. It didn't help that GDF gave the job to Spaz and basically kicked out all of Jags' assistants with him.

Hard to believe this team is significantly worse than last season. Kept the game competitive for a half last year at Death Valley. The chances of an ACC win in 2016 look remote.

It was 100% indisputably intentional, and 100% indisputably above the shoulder. It's pure incompetence.

Were I BC I'd throw forearm shivers at the jaw of every Clemson player rest of the game.

Unreal...and I'm not even a BC fan

Awful reversal and the very least should be a penalty. Has every chance for a clean tackle and went for that hit.
If they can review something like that how can't they review pass interference. They have to add that too.

Darius Wade should be in this game. Sadly Daz is too busy trying to figure out how to fit the word "young" into every answer in his post game press conference to realize this.

Only Daz would force feed an opportunity to a garbage 5th year senior. He ain't Tyler Murphy!

Course now he pick 6s but the future is Wade or Anthony Brown, not Towles.

I think another winless ACC season is very possible.

And sad that our program is the worst in a Power 5 conference.

There have been 5 games in P5 where a QB has reached 250 YD and 4TD with under 25 pass attempts. 2 of the 5 against BC.

They are a horrible program. A horrible program. The coach is a joke. Against any legit program they can't compete. This defense is NOT a top 10 program.

At best the talent here is a mid level G5. He is in year 4 fellas....year 4. And this program has totally imploded. I know it's a big pill to swallow financially but they need to cut their losses. These losses are Spaz like and Chlebek like back in the day.

I didn't expect them to win, nobody did but this is unacceptable. They might beat Syracuse, maybe but that's the only conference game they have a shot in. They are averaging losing to conference opponents by 33 points. Unbelievable.

The Defense is good against the run, and really is an exceptional tackling team, but they would be shredded on a weekly basis by the pass if they played in the Big 12. They benefit from the ACC. Even Clemson tonight took their foot off the throttle and tried to work on their ball possession game after going up 21-3 in the first.

They have a shot against Wake as well. I'm still not buying them as being good.

Funny to see Daz completely open up the playbook tonight after getting blown out. All of a sudden it was almost Harlem Globetrotters out there with the reverses, and revese pass etc.

Sadly I suspect Daz is secretly proud that his team won the time of possession battle 38:08 to 21:52 and that is proof that his plan was right

78-0!

Remember when BC, UConn, and Rutgers used to argue who was the best team in the Northeast? That was cute.

Hey don't forget syracuse.

Combined the 4 programs are
1-10 in conference (UConn win over Cinci)
Outscored 441-126 in conference play

1-11 vs p5 competition (Uconn win over Uva)

3-13 vs FBS competition outside NY/NE (2 Uconn wins, plus Rut beating NM)

This has to be the worst year ever for this group

ok its been a couple days so I can now look back at Friday's shit show with, I was going to say less but as I type i now my blood will boil.
what the fuck was with the traffic all around the city on Friday, I got a Shea field pass late and left the Riviera at 2:30 to meet my crew at the Stockyard at 3:30, I would've been better off walking, I had the maps on my nav and it was red and black everywhere, finally got there at 5 and we got onto Shea around 5:45.

remember the past few 'big games' when Shea was a total shit show, USC, FSU, ND, wicked crowded, people waiting in lines to walk on... well this was quite different. This year for shea its 'reserved' (and $5k flynn fund donation) and you get 20 passes for people to walk onto the field as well. Needless to say that all I had was the pass so I called the Flynn Fund Fri am, dropped the I just got this thru Mason's and you know how much we do, (my version of do you know who I am), the dude took my name and spot number and said that he'd have passes waiting for me at the gate. So I have 5 of us, 3 coolers and a table jammed into my Murano as i pull into Shea and ask the nice female statie, about them. Whats you're name? Mosi.. that gentleman is expecting you.. and he had them in an envelope

WHAT THE FUCK, BCAA did something right??? anyway there were plenty of empty spaces, kids throwing balls around, we were all shocked how few cars were there. in hindsight, i think they offered it to all of the people who parked around Edmunds now that its taken down.

the game, what can I say, Clemson is a solid top 3 team, a step down from 'Bama and tOSU but they are damn good, deep at every position and fucking fast. Speed kills. I mean it was 21-3 at the half and that was not at all a true example of the game, even then it felt like 42-3. I was pissed that Towlie couldn't sneak it over, twice from the one, and bobbled both snaps but it came from a 2nd string center.

I was pissed, i mean almost Fuck Lou Fucking Holtz pissed at Dabbo over the onside kick, but got over it once I saw the video of him with Welles' parents giving them a signed helmet

early line for this week is BC Getting 2.5 from 'Open Date" I'm laying the points

Just got a push notification that BC and Mizzou are going to play a home-and-home with BC hosting in 2021 and Mizzou hosting in 2024. While I have no desire to travel to Mizzou, I'd venture to say this is a good get.

Of course the article it links to calls us the Golden Eagles so they're probably just confused.

Yeah, not sure when the ACC requirement for 1 p5 OOC game kicks in. Hopefully it is immediate so we never see another OOC schedule like this one again.

Looks like BC is now covered for that requirement through 2025, and they have Stanford in 28/29. Just need to add 26/27 now

2024 looks like the best BC OOC schedule ever at this point, so I assume one of the games won't happen. BC is supposed to open that season on Labor day weekend with a home game against the OSU

Kansas is probably worse, but I can't think of another P5 team BC would be favored against on a neutral field.
I owe BSF an apology. Kansas nearly beat TCU; gotta believe they'd beat BC handily on a neutral field. So yeah, worst team in P5.

Not sure why San Diego State would want Bates. They are trying to move their program from mid major to P5 (applying for Big XII admission like UConn). They have a good, not great hoops program with fmr Michigan coach Steve Fischer running the show and and a football program that is ok. They are a first division program in the MWC but SDSU is very much like UConn.....a big fish in a little pond but totally overshadowed in football by the P5 schools that surround it.

They boast about fundraising but Bates has not shown is capable of leading that effort. Also SDSU is a Cal state university and has its own set of issues in that arena.

As for Dazzler, I am hoping Syracuse wins on Saturday. Not only because it is my alma mater ( even though 70% of my family are BC grads including my brother and father) but because they need to cut ties with Daz and clean house. Purdue fired their coach yesterday who was in a similar free fall. They should unload Bates and Daz this weekend. Apathetic fans, plummeting season ticket sales, bad product on the field and the worst facilities in the ACC all point to a complete overhaul of the athletic department. It starts with these two guys.

Bates will end up somewhere and living in San Diego ain't all that bad fellas. Dazzler will get a big payout and either retire or go work as a line coach someplace. And BC will pick up the pieces of this train wreck and be relevant again in about 5 years if they are lucky.

To clarify my above post, it appears Bates is in contention for the job at SDSU but they have not announced anybody to take over yet.
