Probably my favorite ridiculous Gronk touchdown since that incredible one down the sideline against Washington a few years back.  Then again, there are so many ridiculous Gronk touchdowns that this one might not even be in the top 10.  I love that guy.

edit: I was wrong, that Washington catch and run wasn't a touchdown, but it was amazing.

To me it seems like he is making fun of the Colt lineman's dance. Sort of a "Who's dancing now motherfucker!"

I've been telling my wife for awhile that Gronk reminds me of Mark Bavaro, but much better obviously. But, then I just read Bavaro's Wikipedia page. Wow. They are very different folks off the field.

Speaking of wives, the Mrs and I were at a former co-worker's house for dinner and the game. My wife is more diehard about the Patriots than I am, and when Gronk made the catch and got the Edelman block, she start going "GRONK GRONK GRONK" until he scores. I look around and the other couple are just staring at her.

So f'ing proud

Man, I could not stop giggling after that play. Just so perfectly, entirely, Gronk. And right after the Brown block. Awesome. So, so, awesome.

There's another angle of that Brown block that shows what's left of Brown kind of stuffed into the bottom of some kind of stanchion. Anyone got it?

Thank you - that just made a perfect morning even more perfect!

Adding: There used to be that "flat" thing where you posted paper cutouts of someone in odd places. Looks like Gronk didn't need to wait for the paper!

I love how Bill turns around and then immediately looks away with the "Don't laugh, don't laugh, don't laugh." look on his face.

So, yes, I read MMQB today for the Patriots porn. Shame on me. But this was the lead photograph on the article. Awesome.

In the pre-game show, they had that segment with Rodney Harrison and Gronk, and Harrison was talking about players trying to block Gronk at the line and kept grabbing his shoulder pats in the chest to show how a defender would do it.  That picture shows the technique in its perfect form.

I love how the guy in the brown jacket, and the ref, are both watching it with this "ohhhhhh noooooo" look.

(and the guy in the yellow/blue jacket is just calmly taking a piss on the G sign)

That's very appropriate considering how things go in the GoT books (Game of thrones spoiler to follow) [spoiler2]The Mountain that Rides has been resurected as the (likely) headless (and thus brainless) Ser Robert Strong, pretty apt GoT name for Gronk. Though The Mountain that Plays is pretty good too.[/spoiler2]

For me, it's my ten-year old (who has Gronk on his fantasy football team, and would rather lose with Gronk than trade him to me for Murray and Sanders) when Gronk catches a pass, we don't yell. We just, rather matter-of-factly, say "Gronk."

Argued with my wife about this. She thinks abusing the Bears DB was better. I like this one because he scores by being nimble. Tough to take him down if you can't get a clean shot. Tough to take him down if you do get a clean shot.

I think Gronkowski is better, when healthy. "Much" better?  I wonder about that -- acknowledging different eras and teams can be tough to compare.  (I'll bet you know what I've linked to, below)

Don't get me wrong. I hated the Giants as a kid but loved Bavaro. I only said "much" because Bavaro's peak was so short. But I can drop the "much" for now. Thanks for the clip.

Eh, Ronnie Lott only had 9 fingers.  Gronk could've done that to Tyrone Rugen.

Lots of shoulders being thrown by the Niners in that clip. Some awful tackling all around.

No, the "much" is still merited.  Bavaro was a bull and a good two-way TE but he was nowhere close to Gronk as a receiver and red zone threat.  The guy scored more than 4 TDs in a season three times in his career.

Gronk may not end up the GOAT if his career doesn't last long but his peak is the best TE play of all time and I don't think its even that close.  He's "much better" than just about everybody.

I just noticed on the Gronk TD that the guy who was supposed to be covering him can't get up after the spin move.  Apparently even Gronk's 'finesse' moves can be hazardous to your health.

As far as the guy on the goal line, Gronk is rumbling along and has plenty of momentum.  I don't think even Wilfork would be able to stop him from scoring at that angle.  That poor DB probably couldn't have stopped Gronk if he had been running straight at him.

Does Sergio fucking Brown really, honestly believe he locked down Rob Gronkowski? He was the worst member of a secondary that had Julian Edelman playing meaningful snaps.

Reads threads backwards
Looking at last nights FU TD, I counted six men that he prevented from tackling him, and there's at least one he avoided with each of his 4 tools: 1. Quickness 2. Speed 3. Strength and 4. Edelman
