Gronkowski is 26, if he remains reasonably healthy he'll be a fucking fantastic weapon for Jimmy/someone else in our transition away from Brady. At this point, hoping he'll be in one piece for the remainder of this season seems enough, but I'd really like to see him playing at a high level when it's time for the future QB to take the reins. Can't imagine a better weapon to have as you learn the ropes at the NFL level.

Gronk's injury history suggests he's not going to last that long.

Just as an FYI - we (Football Central) decided to stop spamming the forum here with all our stuff. Which means, to see all our stuff, you gotta go to the site.

Rev's also got a Tumblr setup for stuff like this video, so there's like, tons of stuff we're doing that isn't being posted here anymore.

Feel free to post it yourselves.

Yeah, great stuff. I like that you point out the fantastic blocking and that Edelman was open for the first as well. Total domination on pretty much every level.

Gronk starting to get the Shaq treatment from the refs where basically he's fouled against on every play so the refs just let most of them go.

Yeah that was just an awful call, he initiated contact with the first guy but pretty much every physical receiver does that and worse 20 times a game.
For that to be offset with the legitimate PI the next guy did is just dumb.

especially because the first guy was pretty clearly supposed to jam him and pass him off.

Here
Maybe I'm wrong, but it looks to me like Gronk is protecting himself better on the seam routes now. Once he catches the ball,  he's starting to brace for impact and leaning forward to protect his legs. It makes me feel a lot more comfortable.

After he bounced off of Clinton-Dix, I was certain he was going into the endzone.  The only question in my mind was how many Packers he would carry with him when he did.

I'm still shocked that Clay Matthews brought him down.

I consider Gronk one of the best TE ever, but I certainly could be wrong. Is it conceivable for JJ Watt to be light years better than him?

This reminds me of an article way back about how certain TE's and LB's could probably be heavyweight champs if they wanted.  It's a cute, gimmicky thing to bandy about, but as my trainer used to say - until you've done something, you ain't done nothing.

Why is using Vrabel, a proven capable goal line receiver "a look-how-clever-I-am gimmick by Bill Belichick" but using Watt, a seemingly just as capable goal line receiver, something else?

Because Pats players are just blue collar hard workin' fellas who go where they're told while other teams' players are prime athletes who can do anything.

Horrendously stupid article. JJ Watt ain't running past LBs on 25-30 yard seam patterns. Maybe in short yardage situations he could be comparable but a bunch of 1 yard routes doesn't prove anything. God I hate ESPN.

It's amazing, but Gronk is so good that people have come to accept someone his size racing down field while beating tacklers the way he does as something normal for him.

That is way not normal. As in, there have been like three guys that have ever consistently pulled it off in the last 20 years.

I'm not sure there's much in this world I want to see more than a Super Bowl winning MVP Rob Gronkowski asked on live television in front of the one of the largest audiences in television history how he plans to celebrate.

That guy in the Chargers shirt has a look on his face and a grin that seems to say, "I'm picturing her in a state of undress. . . .and I like it."

Any doubt Gronk had a threesome with her and the Asian friend?

God he has a good life.

And is that a dog puppet at Mccords 1 oclock?  Above and to the left of "I am thinking of her naked and like it" guy? Just below redshirt Pat fan.

While I never have been to that stadium but I am assuming the only one who is up that high on the sideline to take that picture is the guy manning on of the tv cameras?

He's coming close to passing Pedro for my all time favorite Boston athlete.

Speaking of....there are 2 people where if it were to ever come out that they were PED users the foundation of my sports world would be shattered. Pedro and Gronk. They were/are so much better than everyone else it's almost unfair.

Not to be believed - a Gronk Christmas shopping spree at Patriots Place with the one and only. There are literally a handful of classic Gronkisms here including, "A Gronk family tradition would be my for brothers and me fighting over each other's presents on Christmas Day..." There are no words to describe how much I love this kid. http://now.nfl.com/play/b2864a66-156c-4550-8bd9-4f4f43ae9732?id=b2864a66-156c-4550-8bd9-4f4f43ae9732

There were Hernandez jerseys selling next to Gronk's.  Just saying….

But Gronk is awesome.

Stay. Healthy. Please.

Drew chimes in

"I had the prototype when I played," former Patriots quarterback Drew Bledsoe declared from the postgame locker room, "which was Ben Coates, who was too big for defensive backs and too fast for linebackers. But Gronk is the evolution of the species. He's just giant."

Evolution of the species!

"Evolution of the Species" sounds like a WWE nickname. Is a German Suplex a 10 or 15 yard penalty?

Gronk needs 14 catches and 234 yards over the last two games to match his output from his absurd 2011 season (although he is 6 TDs short of the 17 he scored that year).  Considering he was operating at half speed for the first quarter or so of the season, that is remarkable.  He's been averaging 6.3 catches a game and 94 yards a game since week 5 (with 8 TDs in 10 games over that stretch), which would pretty much shred his 2011 year (and almost match the TD output) if he did that over 16 healthy regular season games.

He's 25 and will own two of the greatest years ever by a tight end by the end of this year.  Just stay healthy, Gronk.
