I assume everyone is watching on Golf Channel at this point. They just showed the GX7 commercial. My god the metallic Ping sound that thing made on every shot they showed in that commercial would make me way to embarrassed to ever play a hole with that thing, even if it made me a better player

Wonder how many calls the golf channel will get about the "violation" by Johnson there.

Edit: he had to replace his ball in the bunker and in the process of doing so the club hit the sand. Given that a rules official was right there, my assumption is that it's nothing, but somewhere, Jim Nantz will be dropping a dime on him.

OK rules question. Let's say Dustin had a half buried lie in that situation. He was in the bunker and needed to mark the ball in the bunker because Rory was to close.

Would he benefit and instead get to replace back in a perfect lie?

I believe that he has to attempt to recreate his original lie to the extent possible.

Edit: too many words and I got beat.

Phil is hitting off the tee like a 10-15 handicapper this weekend. It looks like it has finally worn him out.

I must have blinked my Eyes, when did Rory vomit all over himself out there?

And not DJ has come pretty close to making this boring

Good for Fleetwood, at least now it forces DJ to really play 18

Man everything has gone DJ's way the last few. From the par 5 with the 2 great bounces back into play. THen hits the poor shot on 16, but gets Rory a couple feet behind him, so he gets the perfect speed read on the really difficult long put. Then her on 17 he gets a perfect read from Thomas

The golf gods owed him after the ball in the tree yesterday.

What did you guys think of the golf course? I'm pretty sure I played there 20 years ago, during my golf team's spring tour of Mexico, but it was so utterly forgettable that I can't be 100% sure. As a general rule I'm not a fan of tree-lined golf courses that don't have distinctive and elegant green complexes, but it did seem to make the players hit shots and play well to score, which I suppose is the most important thing in a tour event.

It wasn't a great course; although I'd love to be able to play it. Golf at 7500 feet always appealed to me. Most of it's defense seemed to be the narrowness / trees. Through some US Open rough on the course and it would be brutally difficult

Cantlay is trying to chase down Hadwin at the Valspar. Hadwin had a 4 shot lead, but it is down to 1 with 4 to play.

Hadwin has played almost perfect golf the last 3 days, and then hits an absurd slice into the water on 16.

Good grief, basically it was the one shot he could make to lose the tournament

Top 5 OWGR in the field this week for Arnold Palmer invitational. Rob Oppenheim is also in the field. He finished T20 here last year, one of his two top 25s for the season.

Hooray for Wednesday golf!

Rory loses to Kjeldsen, Spieth is getting worked by someone I've never heard of, Koepka and Woodland are solidly in the lead - gotta love match play.

To keep the whole field in it for as long as possible. If they play until a winner, most of Friday becomes meaningless.

I'm missing why people hate Day so much? Is it just that he seems fragile or a drama queen? I understand the history, but I have trouble - given his family back story - giving the guy shit for being emotionally detached from playing a golf match because his mom is sick. Obviously it didn't occur at the moment, but if it's not there, it's not there. Soldiering trough another few holes to lose 8&6 or whatever accomplishes what?

Wait - I don't understand the timing. His mom was diagnosed months ago, moved with him to the US, and has actually had positive news lately?

And he goes out today knowing all of this, sucks his way through 6 holes, and instead of going to be with his mother he gives a teary eyed "look at me" press conference? Either go be with her and get away from the golf, or play through it. Stop making such a fucking show out of it.
