They'd lose Spooner if they tried to stash him. No way he'd clear waivers. There are teams looking for centers, so there's trade possibilities there. Joey Mac said a few times that he wouldn't be surprised if Spooner wasn't on the opening night roster, so I guess we'll see what happens. One angle that dawned on me is that Spooner is the only left handed C on the NHL roster. That could be taken into consideration, specifically for draws. Kuraly could stick and is a lefty, but he's played more wing for them. After that we're down to Colby Cave.

I'm not sure there will be much of a market for McQuaid, but it is worth a shot. I wouldn't bury him if there's no trade possibilities. I think the best course of action with McQuaid is to use him as the 7th D. There will be injuries, and we saw what happened in the Ottawa series. D depth is never a bad thing.
Unless he's gotten to the point where he's fallen behind Postma, Grzelyck, O'Gara, etc. I see no harm in keeping him around, as long as they're willing to healthy scratch him.

I want Spooner gone yesterday, but I suspect they want to make sure either Czarnik or JFK is ready to take on the 3C role first. I get the impression that they want Backes at wing, and not 3C, but he would make some sense as a 3C as well.

Bruins' Ticketmaster interface won't let me sell my seats for tomorrow night for less than $54 per ticket. Balcony 328 row 10. Awesome new system they implemented, should really streamline everything.

Anyone want em for free?
There was a minimum price last year as well. I've never really gotten an answer as to why.

I hate the new system. It is God awful and miserable and literally hell on Earth. I used to be able to put an email in and send the tickets as a PDF and life was good. Now I have to create a link and then email/text it and then the person I send that to has to figure it out. And apparently for them the link doesn't work on desktop and can only be viewed on mobile?
Hate.

Spooner has legitimate value on the power play, enough that I'd be fine with them carrying him and giving him 0 ES minutes per game. With the addition of McAvoy on the 2nd unit, I think that their PP could be elite this season.

I think you're a stupid doo doo face who has doo doo for brains. How 'bout that?!?!?!

Spooner is good in the offensive zone, in space, with no one touching him, or breathing on him, or looking at him weird, and only if he has significant space, and as long as he doesn't have the go to the corner. Then, maybe, I will concede he has value.

Otherwise: Shoot. Into. Sun.

What kind of sweetener would have to be added to a McQuaid poison pill so that someone would take him off their hands? Like Marchand?

So you're agreeing he's good on the power play ;-)

If they can get something for him, that'd be great but I don't think keeping him around to start the season is a negative thing either

My guess would be McQuaid + 3rd for a 5th or something. It'd be nice to do it early and free up some cap, but I'm not optimistic

I can't see them moving McQuaid, but the best chance is probably some team that has designs on winning getting decimated with blue line injuries in camp or early on.

There's also handedness issues again. They don't have any righties behind McQuaid. They'd be left with McAvoy, Carlo and Miller. All the projected Providence D (Grz, O'Gara, Cross, Zboril, Lauzon) are lefties though, so I suppose those guys will get experience playing the off side.

I bet you could get someone to take McQuaid for a conditional 7th at the deadline. He's a breathing defenseman who's only signed for one more year for under $3 million. Some bad team with a lot of kids who they want to keep in the AHL to develop next season would take him off the Bruins hands for nothing.

I was chewing on this last night. I'd be ok with Backes as 3C for the first part of the season to bring some of the kids along slowly and package Spooner with McQuaid to Russia for a bottle of their okayist vodka.

Just tried to list ours for the first time and I see that they're charging a fee this year on top of what I'm selling them for?
I have to list mine for at least $60.30 so I put in $61 and a message pops up that says "The list price for your ticket(s) will be $67.77 each" And it seems to scale with list price
61 -- 67.77 (6.77)
70 -- 77.77 (7.77)
100 -- 111.11 (11.11)
I am annoyed at this.

In other news, anyone want to go tonight?

Seems Marchand is using Twitter this season. Don't know if someone nudged him towards it to try and change his reputation, or he just said screw if, but he's off to a good start.

drop the fucking puck and that wouldn't be a problem. It's like they're trying to get people to not watch.

I'd also like to know the person who thought faceoffs were an issue that needed correcting. The linesman are the problem, not the players.

That sequence between Bergy and Marchand is a great example of guys who have played on the same line together for 6+ years.

Now that I know the full scope of the change, I'm ok with the challenge change. Delay of Game is an ok consequence if there's no limit to challenges anymore

Except it's only for offside and not goalie interference. Don't know why they have seperate rules regarding timeouts.
