Duke and UNC really need to stop embarrassing the ACC with these OOC losses. Fortunately, UVA and BC are there to pick up the slack.

#11 Michigan State is absolutely dismantling #17 UCLA in Las Vegas. It's 49-22 with about 2 minutes left in the 1st half. Interestingly, MSU comes into the game with a loss, and UCLA comes in undefeated, but MSU is ranked higher, seemingly appropriately so...

I know this is tongue-in-cheek but I'm not at all embarrassed by Duke's loss to Gonzaga. They showed a lot of character in coming back and figuring out how to stop a team that was eating them alive for 2/3 of the game. Just have to learn how to execute at the finish.

Texas lost at home to Radford. Curious to see who they hire once Shaka Smart is fired in March. Possibly have never seen a coach who has less of an offensive gameplan as him.

I really thought he’d do well in Austin but he has pretty much flopped.

Not that it's probably much solace, but Radford also won @ Notre Dame, so they may be pretty good.

Gonzaga beats Creighton on the road.

Winless LaSalle leads Villanova. You throw out the records when the Big 5 meet at The Palestra.
except for the 23 consecutive wins Villanova has versus the big 5 teams (presumably many of these were at the Palestra).

Uconn-AZ is a fun game.

UConn also picked up a commit from 5-star Akok Akok. He’s coming into the program next semester as a walk on but redshirt then on scholarship and play next year. He is the third top 100 recruit for next years class.

Anyone else catch the Northwestern/Michigan game last night? Game was played at an unbelievably high level for the 2nd game of the conference season (Big 10 looks very strong btw). Ignas Brazdeikis on Michigan is a legit college bb player stud, and he's a freakin' freshman. Northwestern has 2 very good players (Vic Law and Derek Pardon) and a bunch of long athletes, including BC transfer AJ Turner. Both teams played fantastic defense, game decided on a last second shot missed by Ryan Greer, a 5th year senior transfer to NU who was the leading scorer in the MVC last year.

Hall v KY was wild, three-pointers flying: Powell of the Pirates a second-half stud.

Great finish between Syracuse and Georgetown. Classic. They need to find a way to continue this rivalry. As of now, they're done playing.

Same injury DeAndre Hunter had before their first round loss in ncaa tourney in March

#17 Villanova loses to Penn tonight 78-75. Gotta think the defending champs are in real trouble of falling out of the top 25 this weekend.

Doubt it after that strong road showing against #1 Kansas; almost pulled off the upset.
Yep, obviously, I was assuming they wouldn't show as well against Kansas as they did. I still think they drop a couple spots. Losing to an Ivy, and not a particularly good one, is just bad for the resume.

They absolutely should. What a weird team. I knew they wouldn’t be nearly as good as the past 3-5 years but they are just wildly inconsistent.

About to be two in a row at home vs non conference opponents - first time in more than 40 years. If you watch them play, any time the other team shoots, precisely ZERO Syracuse players even try to box out. They just get absolutely killed on the glass. Boxing out in a zone isn't easy, but they literally don't even try. They all just stand there and watch the ball while the other team races around them for the rebound. It's absolutely disgusting and Boeheim should be completely ashamed that they've never ever corrected this.

Duke scored 85 points in the last 26 minutes last night (3.27 PPM / 131 per 40), blocked 14 shots (and had zero of their own blocked) and handed Princeton its biggest defeat in history last night, 101-50. Princeton actually led 8-0 and 18-16 before Duke went off. Doesn’t mean much since Princeton isn’t very good but fun to watch this level of dominance.

Was about to say the same thing, guy was moving all the way. Exactly a farce call like you said. All these different rules to help offense and yet the charge/block call keeps going more towards the defensive player.

(And I'm a certified Duke hater typically.)

Very nice win for Duke. Finally hit free throws. Guys like Jack White are why teams win titles.

Edit: closed on a 20-5 run

What a joke of a call on Zion. Like total farce level. Maybe the worst offensive foul call I’ve ever seen.
I’m sure this is cold consolation, but I’ve seen plenty of worse calls than that.

Doesn’t make it any better. (I mean, the ref was completely faked out by the flop.) But college basketball refs are terrible these days. It’s as if the game has become too fast for them.

UCLA might have a coaching change soon...
Steve Alford was asked about fan unrest after the game and said:
“I’m a man of God, so I’ve got an audience of one.”

And they beat the team that beat Duke (which all you guys were mysteriously silent about), so as usual the who beat who by how many stuff means nothing.
