Yeah I came here to post that I loved that replay of the 4th down play. So clear - so unbelievably clear - that the runner was basically a full yard short of the line to gain. How the refs called that inconclusive, I'll honestly never know. As far as these types of things go, it really wasn't remotely close.

I thought Belichick was classic form, completely dead pan and to me pretty funny. "We didn't get the call".

Talk about classic BB deadpan:

After the Gordon TD reception, Zolac and BB are chatting about other players coming down to congratulate Gordon and BB lets loose with a sotto-voice, "yeah, get the party started..."

I loved that Belichick included the 4th down play. "We didn't get the call there". I was surprised to see Flowers on the center in short yardage, but he, and even more so Guy, played that really well.
That endzone angle is actually the only angle that suggests the refs got it right. Guy has his foot on the 40 and is kinda turned back when he makes the tackle.

It has been WAY too long... [/entitled, I know]

Anyway, here's Buffalo. Clips from O, D and ST; I found the ST stuff especially interesting in this one

Sometimes when we watch the defense live we don’t pick up on all the little things they try to do to make it tough on opposing offenses. Doesn’t always work but there is so much more to it than “they can’t rush the passer”.

Man, that really drove home what a great game they played. Obviously going into KC is another matter, but the execution was so good against the Chargers. That coverage downfield was so tight, the the Chargers O line was off balance the whole game, just because everyone stayed disciplined and played their roles perfectly. If I'm not careful I'm going to talk myself into this upset...

Gotta love the downfield o-line blocking...
Absolutely. Although I will say, on one of the early James White screens from the NE 12 there is some great footage of the downfield O-Line blocking. Unfortunately, Gronk gets downfield but doesn't fully block his guy (safety). If he does, White might take that to the house. The difference between a very good screen and a game changing play. It's at 1:40 on the clip if interested.

Agree, if Gronk eliminates him Sony can cut back inside and keep on going

Every week Belichick calls out the special teams for their play. This is a great example (non-Patriots film) of why he places so much emphasis on it. All 11 guys on any given ST unit need to put in their best effort every play or you're giving your opponent a big advantage. I used to work for a hockey coach who used to say a power play is only an advantage if all 5 guys are working their hardest, because the 4-man PK unit will be hustling even more than usual. Fletcher Cox let his team down even more than Alshon did, and not just by not playing hard on this 1 play, but by consistently not playing hard on punt returns in the Bears game.

The usually taciturn BB uncharacteristically verbose during SB presser when it comes to football history; a highly worthwhile read IMHO:
