Was this on TV? Like, Foulke is there?Varitek is hanging out with Keith Foulke.
Facebook stream is where I've been watching:The NESN stream is terrible. Why do they think we want live shots of Steve Lyons in Fenway?
And the trainer had to check on Nunez three times.Pomeranz gave up 5 ER during the parade.
They're off the route now, heading back to the park. The route was packed.I've been watching for about 10 minutes (at work) and it looks like there is nobody there ...
And Ryan Madson allowed 2 more inherited runners to score. And the trainer had to check on Nunez three times.
great - thanks, would have been a little embarrassing...They're off the route now, heading back to the park. The route was packed.
As they went past where I was standing I saw there were about six Police walking alongside the bullpen boat. And the trainer had to check on Nunez three times.
The drink of choice behind me was apparently Dr. McGillicuddy's Mentholmint, based on the 30-odd empty nips on the ground once the fans cleared out.from twitter:
#RedSoxParade highlight: i watched a girl shotgun a bud light at 11am, and when she threw the can on the ground, an officer politely tapped her on the shoulder and asked her to throw it away
Guess you pick your battles...
Awesome 5 minutes there.Watching Price with his arm around Holt right now being interviewed, REALLY hope this ascension of Price lasts. He is kind of an odd bird the way he talks to the press, BUT apparently his teammates love him, and he is a great teammate,so maybe thats just going to have to be enough. Of course if he keeps pitching this way, its a moot point.
But his salary along with Sandoval, etc may mean the Sox can't resign. Eo.Price holding up Evoldi's duck boat sign is fantastically fabulous.
Is it replayable online anywhere?MLBN as well as NESN repeating parade coverage at 8 pm.
Thanks. I like that one, too. All this madness going around him - and he's lost in his own world, looking lovingly at the hardware. Those are awesome, @kevlog...I especially like the one of Mookie w the trophy. Well done!!
From the SI article that has been linked in other threads:Every Brockstar pic from various threads seems like the dude is having the best few days of his life and totally embracing it....pretty awesome.
"Brock loves playing in Boston,” Cora says. “You know at Fenway, when they introduce Luis Tiant or one of those guys in the third inning of games—‘Legends of Fenway’? That’s what Brock always says he wants to be.”
Meanwhile, with slightly less gravitas, Holt was confirming his newly acquired status as future Third Inning Legend. “I’ll be up there in the box and wave to the crowd,” he said. “I’ll be coming back for years.”
Pomeranz gave up 5 ER during the parade.
And the trainer had to check on Nunez three times.
And Evoladi started warming up in the penAnd Ryan Madson allowed 2 more inherited runners to score.
Alex Cora is awesome in every way. I can't believe he said that (him) having a teenage daughter. Also wasn't sure if he was talking about the 1st or 2nd Pearce HR."We scored 16 at Yankee Stadium. Suck on it" - Alex Cora
He who makes the gold, makes the rules.Any reason they keep showing the front office duck and not so much the players?
There was waaaaay too many drunk college kids. First time I've seen people drinking open beer cans on the T in long time. (Although maybe Busch doesn't qualify as beer)This beer can throwing is nuts. Could hit a kid in the head. What idiots.
You must be a ton of fun at parties. There was waaaaay too many drunk college kids. First time I've seen people drinking open beer cans on the T in long time. (Although maybe Busch doesn't qualify as beer)
Happy to share them. The shot of the line at Coogan's only captured half of the line. It was almost an entire block long. Thanks Kevlog, great shots
I can confirm this. Seemed 3 out of 5 were thisThe drink of choice behind me was apparently Dr. McGillicuddy's Mentholmint, based on the 30-odd empty nips on the ground once the fans cleared out.
Yeah this was the fastest parade of the 4 for sure, and probably fastest of the 11, except maybe the celtics just based on size of team.Watched parade from my office window. Great stuff. Was it just me though, or did they move faster than in past parades? Seemed like they flew by.
I am since I bring the good stuff. You must be a ton of fun at parties.
I was at the corner of Boylston and Tremont, and the players were throwing them to people in the crowd. Sox players are re-gifters!The drink of choice behind me was apparently Dr. McGillicuddy's Mentholmint, based on the 30-odd empty nips on the ground once the fans cleared out.
Honestly, seeing Dustin Pedroia up there is like seeing Papi, Varitek, etc. - he seems like more of a reminder past greatness in this parade than a part of the present team. It's too bad, because he does join Ortiz in having three rings even though his contribution to 2018 was outranked by Dan Butler and Jalen Beeks.I lied...have a few more...View attachment 24503
I think his contribution in the clubhouse was far more valuable than you may think.Honestly, seeing Dustin Pedroia up there is like seeing Papi, Varitek, etc. - he seems like more of a reminder past greatness in this parade than a part of the present team. It's too bad, because he does join Ortiz in having three rings even though his contribution to 2018 was outranked by Dan Butler and Jalen Beeks.
I think it's debatable whether Alex was making fun of the Yankees or was making fun of us. The quote was to the effect that when they lost game two to the Yankees everyone was "panicking here," but then they put up 16."We scored 16 at Yankee Stadium. Suck on it" - Alex Cora
Someone had to pay for police OT etc. I would think if the city was smart there would be some sort of revenue stream available from sponsorships....Asking only out of curiosity, not getoffmylawn-ism....
Does the city pick up the tab for an event like this?
You must not ride the T on Friday or Saturday nights. There was waaaaay too many drunk college kids. First time I've seen people drinking open beer cans on the T in long time. (Although maybe Busch doesn't qualify as beer)
https://www.boston.com/news/local-news/2018/10/31/red-sox-world-series-parade-beer-arrestA 19-year-old Sandwich man was arrested Wednesday during the Red Sox World Series victory parade after authorities say he struck someone riding one of the duck boats with a beer can.
Boston police said in a statement that Patrick Connolly is charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct.
