Anyone listening to MLB on Sirius right now? They're saying how word is that nobody wants to go to Houston. Players, staff, coaches...everyone is staying far away.

It's not that surprising. Everyone probably is waiting to see what the sanctions will be in the cheating scandal before they commit to going there. Rosenthal said they won't figure out any penalties until after the season starts.

Dave Roberts said yesterday on MLBN that he expects more player turnover for the Dodgers this winter than they've had in recent seasons, they're feeling pressure to make a big move to get them over the top. Someone wrote today that it's been so long since the Dodgers won a World Series that Murphy Brown premiered just after the last one (not a joke, in case that's not clear).

losing cole to the yankees couldnt have helped much either. If Urias and Buehler come around and be what they can be, that is an amazing rotation

Yeah, they were pretty quiet about it but the reports that came out right after said that they had been planning to go after Cole hard for a long time. Their bids topped out around $300M but might have gone higher if Cole hadn't picked NY, the sense from all was that was where he wanted to be.

Brodie signs yet another CAA client for the Mets, Michael Wacha on a 1/9 deal to be their 5th starter.

Edit: The numbers were reported wrong initially, actually a 1/3 deal with a lot of potential incentives.

Blake Treinen to the Dodgers for 1/10, they badly need bullpen help and that will help if he reverts back to 2018 form at least somewhat.

I'd like to root for a team with Trout, Rendon, Ohtani, etc. but with Joe Maddon there, I'm not sure I can...

Rogers Park
You can really start putting together some lineups for Anaheim.

LH Calhoun RF
RH Trout CF
RH Rendon 3B
LH Ohtani DH
RH Fletcher 2B
RH Pujols 1B
LH Goodwin LF
RH Lucroy C
RH Simmons SS

Now they just need some healthy pitching.

It's good to be Josh Donaldson right now, Braves and Rangers and Dodgers and maybe Phillies all likely after him hard, plus who knows who else.

I am not going to dig it up but someone complained maybe a week ago on the main board about a slow offseason. Still slow for Boston and some other teams, but for MLB as a whole, things are flying. Once a few more of the remaining best FAs come off the board, the trade market should heat up and we should see some wild stuff there too. Who needs artificial deadlines, go hot stove!

Rule 5 tomorrow...

Pretty clever by Manfred, even if unintentional. The penalties are beginning now before the penalty is even in place.

This is the Reddit post.
There's speculation on who it actually was since the person deleted their account right after. Some posters said it was the Lakers insider who leaked the Kawhi interest and the AD deal being done before the media had it. I guess it makes sense geographically. So by the posters logic the next domino to drop is the Price trade. Lets see what happens.

As for Betts? Yeah he's getting 400 mil or something close to it.

Rosenthal said in his notes column that the Yankees have been the most aggressive pursuer of Josh Hader. Chapman, Hader, Ottavino, Britton, Kahnle almost seems like too many high end arms. Might they trade someone in a deal?
