A Scud Away from Hell
Just like last week, the ball-hawking defense & a strong finish by TB and the tattered offensive unit runs away with it late in the game.

Sure, NYG missed its share of players but the Patriots were featuring Gunner, Myers, Izzo, and Michel much of the second half. That is a pre-season type of a lineup.

Don't care how ugly it was to begin the game. Pats win by 3 scores with a mini-bye coming up.

It's Game Ball Time!

The schedule maker. I don't like the short week, but I now like the extended break.

Jakobi had some nice catches when the game was still close. Gunner with some quality returns and a couple big plays in passing game.

Jules, Gilmore, Bolden, Chase, KVN, Collins
I’ll co-sign this but also an honorable mention for TB12 who put together a pretty good game for an old guy with extremely limited WR options.

Damned straight. 31-41 (75.6%), 334 yards, plus two rushing TDs, with very few weapons and a leaky OL in front of him. The one bad INT (that's a few times now we've said that this year, which is not a little concerning), but otherwise, pretty stellar. Yes the Giants' D is bad. 76% completion rate and 334 yards throwing to two rookies, one legit WR, and no TEs is pretty good.

Tom gets a game ball. As do Jules and Gilmore.

The defense, yeah, against crap offensive players, but still, had another great game. One TD allowed on a perfect pass down the sideline that still was tipped and broken up...except that the ball caromed right into the hands of Tate, who had to make a bobbling catch and run for the TD. That's it. The other TD came on a Brady blind-side hit and fumble returned for a TD. Otherwise, the Giants had 213 total yards, 10 first downs, and four turnovers (plus a punt blocked). They only ran 48 plays.

The lurker who grew up with Nugent deserves a game ball too. Nugent deserves some Senokot.

Great to see the Bolden love. He's improved every year and to the point BB trusts him now as a running back, pass catcher, special teams obviously, and maybe even as our new short yardage guy

Sony out of the backfield catching passes continues to develop. I like it.

Also, this D is fun to watch!

around the way
Lots of guys earned game balls this week.

Gilmore - as good a game as you will see a CB play
Edelman - third most important player on the team. Indispensable to the offense.

HM: KVN, Bolden, Collins.

Sorry if it was mentioned before, but it appears that Gunner O played on offense, defense and special teams.

KVN seemed to be everywhere.

However, he was not nearly as everywhere as that Mayo dude on the Giants. That dude, he was everywhere

So the Super Bowl will be against the Seahawks for a true march to the SEA?
Just a nitpick, but Sherman's on the 49ers now.

As for the game balls, I'd give them to:

Offense:
Tom Brady
Julian Edelman
Jakobi Meyers
James White for a few clutch first downs
Gunner Olszewski

Defense:
Stephon Gilmore
Kyle Van Noy
Jonathan Jones
Jamie Collins
and everybody else

Special Teams:
Brandon Bolden for causing the blocked punt
Chase Winovich for returning it
Jake Bailey

It seems like I would give them to everybody but the OL. So be it. It is what it is.

I think he meant this guy
26243

Not this guy
26244

Though you’re probably right he probably did forget and was just a little too clever.
Anywho, the D was awesome KVN, Collins and Gilmore.

All the usuals. Seeing Gunner somewhere on just about every play is interesting. I also think Wise is putting in some good work as well these last few games.

Wait, there’s a fine for throwing the ball into the stands?
for safety reasons is the excuse. NFL doesn’t want people fighting for, diving for, reaching, etc for balls thrown into the stands.
It was even a penalty for awhile. Not sure if they rescinded that though as I don’t recall seeing a flag for it recently (but could just be my faulty memory).

Jakobi had 4 catches on 4 targets. From what I've seen in preseason and limited time in reg season he has great hands. He catches everything thrown at him. Not sure how often he's getting open, but you would think TB should be gaining confidence in him.

Don't worry there will be one or more calls in the playoffs that go totally different than how they've been calling it in the regular season, and will completely fuck over some poor team.

Really?
Offense and ST for sure, but I didn't see him on defense. Where/what did he play?
I am going from the Yahoo sports stat sheet, which seems to credit him with a tackle on D.

Based on Profootballreference.com he didn't play defense. Perhaps he was given credit for tackle on the Brady INT? Or it was a special teams tackle mislabeled.
