I like to think of the Jets futility as the curse of BB, a cosmic repatriation for the Bambino. May it last for just as long (without CHB writing a crappy book about it).

in order to make the playoffs, the Jets couldn't blow a winnable game all year, and they already did it with Buffalo. now Darnold has mono and even the dysfunctional Browns should be able to take it on Monday night. that's two winnable games down the tubes.

still, you never know I guess. the magic of the NFL!

When I think of the Jets, magic does not come to mind.

Tragic is more like it.

Not if your QB has an enlarged spleen.
I thought rupturing spleens was like a sacrifice you make to obtain a future HoF QB...

But yes, since Darnold was making out with someone under the bleachers at Metlife, the early BYE is going to help. In general that early a BYE is really crappy for a team.

Dr. O'Brien, a regular contributor on Francesa's show re players and injuries, said the spleen issue was a huge risk factor, and Darnold not playing again in '19 was a possibility.

Hope Jets fans can keep in good humor.

Meh, that’s sloppy - SSF would’ve had it.

Depends on Douglas more than Gase. Gase is competent. I saw enough Miami with a zero at QB to know this. Gase might not be good, but he isn't awful. The jury is still out. Douglas has a good rep and I like his moves so far but not enough moves to really evaluate yet.
Douglas is very good at his job. As are his hires.

This article is from June but it has some flavor on Chad Alexander and Phil Savage from a Baltimore POV - both worked for the Ravens: https://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/analysis/preston/bs-sp-preston-ravens-jets-connections-20190624-story.html.

It'll take some time but I'm pretty sure they will be building NYJ into a winner if given the chance.

You fumble at the 10 yard line after a medium gain catch and run, and your offensive savant completely botches the play calling on 3rd and 4th down & 1 In your other trip to the red zone.

How can a QB go 20/25, with no ints and only one team fumble, and the team only score a long field goal?
Good question. But those numbers (minus the scoreboard part, which will be ignored) give Belichick the talking point that he needs about Falk, so thank you very much.

Jets could become the 6th team in the Super Bowl era to start 3 different QBs in their first 3 games.

The Jets are now +22 1/2 udogs vs the Pats.

I don't think I've ever seen a NFL line that high before. (Cowboys are currently -21 1/2 vs Fins)

I think Namath needs to guarantee a win.

To divine the Jets requires no gnosis
You already know the prognosis
Sam's off-the-field flirtations
Led to some osculations
And in turn mononucleosis

This came up in another thread---Broncos were 26.5 point favorites back in 2013.

When was the last time the NFL had two 20 point dogs in the same week?

These lines are amazing.

The AFC East has 4 teams and two of the teams are some of the worst teams in a long time.

I'm pretty confident that the Bills beat the Patriots once this season
