I think those #'s are wrong. Looking at Over the cap they have $5m. According to Sportrac they have $157m in cap space on one page and $9m on another, so I don't know.

Does look like the Jets carried over $12m from last year though.

Aaaaaand they didn’t deal Bell. Or Adams. But their names are now all over the place as guys who the team tried to get rid of and/or who themselves want out of town. Fun locker room, way to crush team morale. Phins win this Sunday.

Trading Bell would have been a good idea. Annoyed that Gase is trying to do something short term bad but long term good.

That word got out and now they're the 2018-19 Lakers is funny and kinda Jetsy but not much you can do about that.

Yeah, extremely level-headed...

Never felt this in 50 years

I am about to turn 64 years old, I was 12 when the Jets won the Super Bowl, I remember a couple of classmates paying me a quarter each when I bet them the Jets would win.
After being aware and a fan since around 1964 I can for the first time saying I just don’t care anymore.
I’m not bitching, shaking my head during a game, calling the coach a idiot, throwing a fit during a Rex Ryan post game press conference saying Mark gives us our best chance to win after losing 6-3 a couple of weeks in a row.
I sit in front of my TV totally numb and not caring, all this while living around a ton of Giant Fans which has been a headache since 1986.
Just no reason to care.

I Was Wrong. An Apology To The Gang Green
I just wanted to make a post apologizing to all of the great Jets fans for giving you any false hope or confidence with my posts in 2019. I truly had high hopes and expectations for Adam Gase and the rest of the team. I thought he would turn Sam Darnold into an elite QB. I thought the additions of Bell and Crowder would make the offense unstoppable. I thought Gregg Williams would make the defense one of the best in the NFL. I was dead wrong.

Some other posters would say "Temper your expectations. It is going to be another rough season." I thought those fans were ridiculous! Some fans would not even give Adam Gase a chance. I thought they were being rude. Nope. You guys just understand the game better than others and don't let your blind faith get in the way of facts.

There is nothing wrong with being positive and optimistic, which you all know I am, but when the Jets play the way they have it makes you feel like a moron for ever believing in this joke of a team. If you stand up for something, and then they completely let you down, you feel like and look like the idiot in the end.

I still believe Joe Douglas can right this ship, but I don't know how long it will take. The Jets need a completely new O-line, CB's, WR's, Pass rushers, etc. It is a lot. I wish him well, but I know it won't be easy. I think they need a new Head Coach too, which is another mess. Hopefully they fix things before Sam is completely ruined.

In the end, I love talking about football with you guys, but I also like to think I do it in a knowledgeable way. Most of my posts this year have been incorrect, so I am sorry. Thank you guys for being here to discuss the Jets. In times like these, we need each other!

This is an organizational failure people are scapegoating Gase for. The biggest problem over the last few years has been the offensive line. It was not addressed. To make matters worse, 3 of the 5 opening day starters are out. If they were question marks how good do we expect the backups to be?

Sam was probably playing game 1 with mono and then is out for 4 games and the backup win gets killed.

We have 5 ILB out and 3 are on IR. Our corners are shit and the last GM gave Trumaine Johnson, who sucks, a ton of money.

The last gm spent a lot of money on splash and we have no depth.

Gase has done himself no favors with the googly eyes and not changing his offense to protect Sam.

Not protecting Sam might be fireable. The wins and losses? The owner should fire himself.

Sam weighs in on Gase after winning the championship of NYC

“I think it’s definitely important to keep a head coach,” Darnold told The Post. “I’m not in the position to making decisions like that.”
Except as the Jets’ crown jewel, his vote carries an awful lot of weight. “Yeah I know it does, but at the same time, that’s out of my power.
“But I would definitely love to see him.
“He’s a great head coach, he’s a great playcaller, and we get along really well.”
Gase won’t be standing on any float through the Canyon of Heroes anytime soon, but for a change that wasn’t him being assailed by his fan base, that was Pat Shurmur, loser of six straight.

Jets ownership tells reporters that the plan for 2020 is "Adam Gase, No Matter What"

On the one hand cycling coaches is bad. On the other.... he's a terrible coach, who you watched be a terrible coach in Miami for years, and now you're wondering why he's still terrible?

I don’t know that he was terrible in Miami. I said that before Miami fired him. He was fine with Tannehill.

I really cannot evaluate Gase. It would be incredibly hard to succeed with this oLine + oline injuries. Sam Qb’d 6 games. Jets could easily be 3-3 in those games they are 2-4. They beat Dallas and NYG, they lost to Bills, Pats, Jags(road), Fish(road).

Gase is still a big question mark. I’ll give him next year with a better roster. Sam likes him. Sam is the best hope Jets have had since we had Parcells and BB.

I was very down in MIA for a number of reasons:
1. The offense, his calling card was awful (even with Tannehill they were at the bottom of the league in DVOA)
2. He consistently misused skill players
3. He was toxic in the lockerroom (you had guys HAPPY to get traded to Cleveland)
4. Young players not only didn't get better under him, sometimes they got worse

Gase is a classic case of a guy who lucked into a good situation (Manning) then rode that and a raft of excuses to job after job. I mean... the Jets don't have anywhere near the worst offensive personel in the league, yet.... not only dead last in Offensive DVOA, it isn't even close. Record isn't a great way to judge a coach of a mediocre to bad team, Gase could be 2-7 and having a good year. I'd argue his replacement in MIA is a great example, 2-7 with far less talent, ownership openly trying to trade every good payer, and yet the team hasn't quit.

Maybe he should have shown up at work or called in? He is blasting the org on twitter, that’s pretty strange.

If she’s a veteran, there are a bunch of places she could have gone for a free lunch and he wouldn’t have had to actually take her to lunch. Of course, I would think about taking my veteran wife out on Veterans Day as much as I would think about taking her out for lunch any other day and it wouldn’t happen if I had something scheduled already.

Or at least tell your employer in advance.

The damning part of Enunwa's rant where the Jets are concerned is "I never thought that they’d be worried about me missing, but obviously I was wrong." Do you think anyone on the Patriots IR has any confusion about whether they're expected to show up for treatment or what the consequences will be if they don't?

I just asked my son, he’s 7, how he liked the Jets big win today while I was flossing his teeth. Fucker tells me, “pretty good, one thing, Jets aren’t BIG, Jamal Adams is kind of skinny”

This happens in my own home.

That’s a weird name for your kid. Is it a family thing or original?

The Jets are going to win their next 2 to get to 6-7 on the season, and for a week even the cynics like luckiestman will allow themselves to dream. But then the year concludes with @BAL, PIT, @BUF.

If they can get to 9-7 on the back of 8 straight wins including 2 of the best 3 teams in the AFC, they'll have earned that wildcard and a lot of people will be scared that they've really figured something out. I just don't think we end up facing that situation.

I don’t assume we win @ Cincy or home for Fish. We still can’t pass protect.

As for the rest of the games:
@ Baltimore is even worse because it is a Thursday.

Pitt is not good but we could lose

Buff might have 5 seed clinched and I don’t think they are good anyway. Weather could be crazy as that is at Circled Wagons Stadium

Unless she was underage, he's got a ton of clearance above the Mark Sanchez embarrassment bar.

That said, "walk of shame" does make for a snazzy thread subtitle.
