Rendon pops up on the first pitch for the third time this game, each time with runners on.

Heading out soon with my son for our first in person World Series game ever. Very pumped and I wish I could enjoy the spectacle no matter what the result, but I’ll be miserable if the Nats lay another egg like last night.

Game 5 tix on StubHub for about $950. How much will that go to if Nats win tonight? I'm debating buying and relisting.

Starting out poorly for the Nats.

I think Martinez missed a huge opportunity last night when he didn’t pinch hit for Sanchez. IIRC Nats we’re down 2-1, one out in the bottom of the fourth with runners on second and third (maybe first and third), and Sanchez coming to bat. It would have been high risk/high reward to pull Sanchez for a ph that early in the game, but I think it was a turning point in the series.

it was just one runner, on 3rd.

the Nats' pen is so bad I think you have to keep Sanchez in. it's a tough call.

Is it common sense to assume that the Nats regret giving that contract to Corbin?
This was the first year of the deal and he was a top 20 pitcher in MLB by the numbers, so I don't see why.

I thought it was too much then, I've never been a fan (at that contract level), but his numbers this postseason look much worse because of his awful relief outing against LA, which was something he had never done before. The top 2/3 of the HOU lineup kills lefties, they knocked Paxton out pretty quickly his first start against them last series too.

Thanks. That was so complete I feel that I ought to have paid you!
