Dave Martinez as a player only made the playoffs once in his 16 year career, his last year while in Atlanta. Must be pretty sweet for him.

Has Kedrick ever won a ring before?
Answered already, but I think the closest he got was the '09 Angels team that beat the Sox but lost to the MFYs in the ALCS.

I really feel good for Scherzer, who was tremendous against the Sox in '13 and seems to leave his heart on the mound, both then and now - just a great competitor.

Edit - Oops....guess there was another time for Kendrick too...with LAD?

Stras carries the team to a WS victory and gets the MVP after signing a somewhat team friendly extension. Harper sitting at home. Amazing

Some of the other guys likely to get a ring out of this: Jeremy Hellickson, Kyle Barraclough, Tony Sipp, Hunter Strickland, Trevor Rosenthal (and his 22.74 ERA with the Nats), Jonny Venters, Roenis Elias. Shows you how bad they were at certain points with their pitching.

In The Quivering Forest
Also feel good that the guys from this crew could win, especially if Strasburg and Rendon go off in a different direction this offseason. With Harper, Strasburg and Rendon they were supposed to have that core to win the WS, if they didn't it would have been an enormous missed opportunity.

But now they have.

and even better now he gets the chance to opt out (or use the opt out as leverage) coming off one of his best years ever and as the playoff hero
