Both could have missed those games, but went out there and pushed themselves to the limit for their team. Schilling wore a dead persons tendon.

Pedro pitched in an elimination game when he was literally the only competent pitcher on the roster. Schilling pitched when he was 37 or 38 years old and the Red Sox hadn’t won in 86 years and it was an elimination game. Buchholz kinda sucked in his World Series start but he did gut it out and got lucky. This series is tied and they will need Scherzer the rest of the way to win it.

You know, Scherzered.
To be up a creek without a paddle.
To have the whole world (series) in the palm of your hand and then blow it.
it’s a figure of speech

Scherzer said he couldn't put his clothes on this morning and had to have his wife help him. There is "gutting out an injury" and there is "literally cannot move one's body in order to throw a baseball."
If Scherzer deserves any criticism it’s for not
taking better preventative measures to guard against a recurring issue. It’s not even like he was on the road dealing with a hotel bed and pillow.
