This is where having to go to 5 against NYY and the lack of off days bite them. Loup should never be in here. Trying to scrape by without using all their top relievers.

Baseball has a way of delivering these redemptive blah blahs as blah

Without a blowout or two, Rays may need to ride Castillo like Keith Foulke..

The longer this series goes, the more each game favors TB and their much deeper staff, so an especially big win IMO.

Astros were a pretty average offensive team this year
14th runs
19th homeruns
20th AVG
22nd OBP
16th SLG
16th OPS
Least K’s tho
They kind of coasted through the season, they knew they just had to finish second in the division to get the 6 seed, and no one was really challenging them. They had scored 40 runs in 6 postseason games before this, 33 in 4 games in the just finished A's series.

Yeah, that's still a heck of a lineup.

Right Here
Shows how much I've been paying attention to baseball this year. I thought Game 1 was tonight.

That said, glad that the Rays beat NY. It would have felt morally reprehensible to have had to root for a sinkhole opening up and swallowing San Diego. I'm not saying I didn't have it in me, just glad it didn't come to that.

I fell asleep in the 7th and expected to wake up to Houston puling it out. Kudos to TB pitching - Houston's lineup was mashing and they shut it down, even without throwing the best arms/stuff. Hope for a long, fun series.

I am looking forward to this game. Love afternoon baseball, when I am fully awake.
Geaux, Rays!!!
HaHa, on msnbc this a.m., they were calling the Rays "America's Team," mostly b/c they vanquished the Yankees.

If they run thru Yankees, Astros, Dodgers they will truly earn that moniker

This is remarkable, about TB:

"Between regular- and postseason, 37 of their 68 games (54.4 pct.) have been decided by 2 runs or fewer, and they are 27-10 (.730), 4-0 in the postseason after a majors-best 23-10 (.697) in the regular season."

That base-cam shot from third was pretty good, but the camera should probably be like five feet behind the base, not in it.

Three run Rays dong after one of the silliest errors you'll ever see extends the inning.
