It was fun to watch Celtics basketball again. I thought the overall presentation of the game was great, and I didn't think it felt odd at all. I was a little surprised they didn't do more with different camera angles - as now they have no fans, they could have cameras everywhere without obstructing anyone. There were a few different camera angles, but not that many.

As was discussed a bit during the broadcast, the arena is now quieter. It would seem that communication between players and from the coaches to the players should be easier. But, maybe it's not a material difference.

On the basketball side, I was disappointed by how the Celtics were getting killed on the defensive boards. Playing great defense is useless if the other team gets an easy layup after you force a miss. As per usual, I was also disappointed to see Marcus Smart putting up shots when Tatum, Brown, and Hayward were all on the floor.

I love Marcus, flaws and all, but he frustrates me, too. He's good now but, as I'm sure countless coaches have told him, he'd be that much better and more valuable to the team if he'd only improve his shot selection.

The NBA has said they're going to do this, so maybe they're easing into it.

Yes and no. It's easier in terms of players and coaches on your team being able to hear you. The flipside is that your opponent can hear everything you're saying as well, which can make communication more complicated.

I thought this was an interesting quote from Nick Nurse, from a recent Athletic piece:

Nick Nurse’s Raptors won their practice game over the Rockets, but when I asked the Toronto coach what was something big or small that stood out to him, telling him just how different this was, playing basketball (against an opponent) in the bubble, and he said “it is a communication thing.

“My first play I called out I was like, ‘Whoa,’” Nurse said. “I was really trying to give some instruction on some free throws, defensively, because they kind of run this quick break thing, and I finally found myself not even doing it, because it was like, ‘Well, everybody in the whole place is going to hear this thing.”

Kemba in the starting five today, we’ll see how he does.

That might be the first shot Devin Booker has ever missed against the C's.

I have always liked Saric's game. I feel like his best use is as a key bench part on a championship team---but he's a little too good/still too young and promising to be that yet

Tatum is really struggling with his shot. He needs to see something go down.

The extremely loud arena sounds with no fans is just...off putting? Sad? I don’t know. Baseball works so much better without fans than basketball does.

Defense has been lousy but liked seeing Tatum make some shots towards the end of the quarter.

Grant Williams seems to have fallen out of the rotation. Same with Time Lord.

He's been terrific today. Having his way against Hayward.

Good things seem to happen when Grant Williams is on the court.

I don't have the audio on today - wasn't the first scrimmage only ten min quarters? Was that a one time deal?

After a slow start, Hayward has looked really good on offense.

One thing to miss about no fans: when Hayward totally fakes out his defender, who goes flying right past him on the closeout giving Gordon the open shot, there's no audible "oooooo" from the stands.

Really nice three quarters from our wings. Hope Kemba can get back into things by the time the playoffs start.

It'd be nice to see Waters in there rather than Wanamaker as the C's try to close this out.

Love our scrub squad. Romeo, Edwards, Green, TL, etc. all fun to watch in their own ways.

Langford from the corner! Any thoughts from the experts on his shot form mechanics?
I'm not an expert, but his form has been a little different on each of his 3s, it appears. (He's missed two since hitting the first one.)
