Anyone else been watching this? I'm not really a Hard Knocks guy but I've been enjoying these. The scene in the Chargers locker room that ended the last episode was riveting. I'm not fully comfortable with how much this is making me like the Chargers.

The juxtaposition in the first episode between Anthony Lynn and his wife grilling ribs and chicken, talking about how they met in Cleveland, then cutting to Sean McVay and his supermodel wife drinking rose in their mansion, was some top notch (unintentional..?) comedy gold.

I’m a sucker for these behind the scenes shows, and since the Chargers are in my backyard it is fun to see familiar sites, and I’m friendly with one of the Rams’ coaches so I enjoy seeing him at work, so yes, I’ve been watching.

This week’s coverage of the protests was pretty interesting, and I enjoyed the bit about the Chargers’ rookie DT Fehoka being taught by the guys whose job he’s trying to take and him making the team on the basis of his haka breakdown at the end of practice

This has been a stronger series than the last couple. The Raiders could've been an all-time all-timer, but all the drama of the camp was scrupulously kept out of the show, and the Rams solo outing the year before that was pretty sleepy too. My favorite part of the Hard Knockses has been seeing the players get cut/traded and the coach/GMs doing real front office work... that's been dialed way back in recent seasons, but at least we've had a flavor of it this year.

So... if the Pats miss the playoffs this year, is there any way BB can keep Hard Knocks out? Or NFL mandate? That might be reason enough for him to do anything in his power to get back to the playoffs this season or die trying.

It’s been better in the past, but I my son and I still enjoyed it. The Raiders re wrote the script keeping the big news out of the show. The cuts on this one weren’t as poignant to me due the practice squad fallback - those four extra slots helped. No between team scrimmages limited things to an extent.

But no god damn snacks this year.

The three exclusions are:
1) have a first year head coach
2) have made the playoffs in past two seasons
3) have been on the show within last ten years

So no, there likely will be no Hard Knocks Patriots unless BB decides he wants to allow it, no matter how they finish this year.
