I await the day when golf announcers are forbidden from using the term "golf shot" to describe a golf shot.
Counterpoint: unlike the NFL announcers they don't spell it out to say how hard it is to win in the PROFESSIONAL GOLFERS' ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA! Or "That's a one-stroke penalty Jim, he made a golfing move."

The last guys to go off today are done with the 9th hole. So half a round before the cut and, unlike today, they can't start the 3rd while others players are finishing up. The 3rd round could start at 11am.

Sunday finish is possible but it will be tight.

True but a little help that it's only top 50 and ties so less players on the weekend

I assume they can start the 4th round before the 3rd round ends, but could be wrong there. I think that would be the key to be able to finish Sunday.

if the third round starts at 11 and they go off both tees, they should finish the third round tomorrow considering it’s only top 50 and ties.

Looks like they plan on starting the third round at 10:30am. So with split tees the leaders would go off around 12:30.

Espn has it at 730 until the conclusion of the round then cbs from 1-5

Does Patrick Reed ever wear long sleeves? Its 57 there this morning!

I've said it a few times in this thread already but I am loving the coverage with no fans. The sounds are incredible.

Tiger can't get anything going. Not playing poorly but just can't get a birdie to get some momentum. A bit unfortunate that he got 13 and 15 in a little colder conditions and had to layup on both (and also missed the fairway by like a foot on 13).

Well there is one. Let's see if he can get another in the final 3 holes

Nice rebound for Ogeltree. He looked like a calamity early on Thursday but has bounced back and will make the cut barring a disaster on 18.

Oh Christ, here comes the “Bryson Apology Tour.”

The narrative of him as such a thoughtful player is such utter crap. He had a bad two days. Own it you fucking baby.

If you “feel off” during a fucking pandemic then drop out immediately. If you don’t and you test negative then shut the hell up. You played bad. It happens

What is the best quick and dirty way to figure out how the cut line will move if player "x" does something? It should be easier than I make it.

Faldo just added to the Tiger 2020 vs Jack in 1986 stat.
You’ve probably already seen that this year is Tigers 23rd Masters and he’s trying for his 6th win. In 1986, Jack was in his 23rd Masters, looking for his 6th win.
Both players entered the tournament ranked #33 in the world.
Faldo just added that, after 36 holes, Jack was in 17th place. Tiger after 36 holes... 17th place.
Both were also 4 shots back through 36

It's really just looking at the leaderboard. The E's were all T50. The cut is 50 and ties. So, RCB, for instance was playing his final hole at E. If he made birdie that pushes the E's to T51 and thus outside the cut.

It can be a bit confusing when there are multiple guys on the line playing at the same time, but Falldo and Nantz made it harder that it really needed to be.

If the cut was the 10 stroke rule, 8 more guys would have made it.

But some guys snuck in. Spieth, Finau, Dechamblis, Morikawa.

Imagine if Bello got that birdie?

Ahhhh....thanks. yeah, nantz and faldo in real time didn't help.
But faldo likes old Genesis, so I can't hate him.
