So I checked....
not counting last year's rookies... every draft since at least 1999 has had a player in the top 5 who made at least 1 all-star team. That's as far back as I bothered to check

See to me he screams, mercurial bench PG for like 12 years.
I hate the idea that Charlotte "needed a star" so they drafted the guy with the biggest name, irrespective of part of the reason he is biggest name is because his road to the NBA was a complete clown show. Can't shoot, weak on defense, thinks he's a star but probably won't be able to score at any level in the NBA, hard pass.

would anyone be surprised if none of these top-5 players ever make an all-star team?
Yes. I don't think this has ever happened in the lottery era. Even the infamous 2000 and 2014 drafts had Kenyon Martin and Oladipo who were both all stars at least once.

A little. Lot of guys make an all-star team over a long enough period, single good half years, bad injury seasons, weak conferences,
Yeah, it would be pretty shocking if none of the top 5 picks make an all-star team. There have been a fair amount of drafts over the last few decades in which just one top 5 pick made an all star team at some point, but I can't see any (even the ghastly 2000 draft) in which none of the top 5 picks ever got selected for the AS team.

Tend to think at worst he'll be something resembling his brother. So I'd be surprised if he is a bust.
The scouting report on him is that he is basically Lonzo, except that unlike Lonzo he is a lackadaisical defender and unlike Lonzo, is a shoot-first player. Obviously some draft experts are really high on him, but I think that it's a really risky pick.

The Bulls blow up everybody’s mock by selecting Patrick Williams at 4. I really like this pick

I’d love to be shocked, but I’m disappointed that it doesn’t look like Danny will manage to move any of his picks for something useful.

What a crappy year to be holding 3 first round picks.
I have no idea about these players but philosophically I would think the opposite. The lack of info should lead to more misses which should help the team with volume.

Gotta love taking a college 6th man with the 4th overall pick.
And the guy with the worst defensive footwork I’ve ever seen. I’ve never seen someone trip over his own feet so many times in game tape.

Yeah, I honestly can’t think of a worse year in recent memory.
I think it's a great draft to have 3 non-premium picks honestly. This draft is deep, just the top end isn't good.

The problem is we don't have a roster to take 3 mid-late 1sts.

I think the bottom is this draft is better than the average late 1st.
