Don't love, but can live with expanded playoffs. 17 game season is an affront, though. Piggish greed. Going Forward, Goodell and every single owner have zero credibility ever talking about player safety being priority number one again. To say nothing of what a joke home/away schedules will become.

Edit: Not that they had much credibility to begin with on that topic.

Will there be a second bye week per team or is that too smart for player safety to actually happen?

Can't believe the players agreed to that, should have gotten a lot more with the 17th game.

The thing we have to remember about the 17th game is it replaces a preseason game. I know a lot of star players don't play a ton in the preseason, but I am thinking about this as if it is adding some fraction of an extra game, but not really an entire game. They are still playing 20 total preseason + regular season games.

This seems shocking. Woulda thought he was worth more then that. Wow.
A) he will be 34 in September
B) he is slated to make $15M this year base salary

As the tweet says, he is going to sign an extension that will reduce the 2020 cap hit, but that likely means some dead cap hits for the Ravens in a year or two.

I think the 17 game season is sooooo stupid and that the 16 game setup is basically perfect.

But honestly, why should I actually care (apart from health and safety issues for players, which they just decided was worth it to themselves)? It means my team plays another game each year, minimum.

does this mean the season starts a week earlier or goes a week later? (e.g. week 4 of pre-season becomes week 1 of regular season)

The underrated Judy Battista addresses this in her recap

And there must be a "bye week" after the third and final preseason game before the start of the regular season.
So it looks like three preseason games, a week off, then the season picks up for realz

Campbell is a good player but that's high money. Still a good deal for the Ravens as their window is essentially the next two years anyway.

The increasing salary cap due to the increased revenue allotted to player salaries will be a huge boon to the Ravens and Chiefs. (Well, every GM, really.). Both clubs will have similar plans - go all in during the QB-rookie-contract, leave enough cap space for a record setting 2nd contract, then deal with a transition season before re-emerging with a reconfigured roster. if the cap reaches the 48.8% of revenues quickly, it will be that much easier to eat dead money from contracts signed in that QB-rookie-contract window.

From Florio at 10:41 PM EDT:

the plan to move forward with the new league year as scheduled isn’t set in stone. Per a league source, discussions between the NFL and the NFLPA are expected to resume on Monday, as new information comes in and decisions potentially are revised.

In theory, those conversations can happen even after the legal tampering window opens. That possibility could cause some teams to not jump into the free-agency pool as aggressively as they otherwise would.

Premier free agents are not working out.
Brady's not throwing in TB? I want them to be surprised when the throws hit the guys on his team.

And yeah, not working out, but there are physicals. But I think that's a different animal than flying around and being wined and dined.

Yeah. Physicals might be the biggest obstacle and why some are pushing for a delay.

This doesn't seem like a good use of resources.
I thought there were rumors that the Bengals were going to do this to appease or entice Joe Burrow to sign with them but I agree with your comment.

Per the NFL network; the draft will proceed on April 23 to April 25 but all public events surrounding the draft in Las Vegas have been canceled. Not a surprise but just made official. This was going to be the year my father and I attended the draft together in Vegas. Oh well there will be another time hopefully.

Just a request to copy and paste the tweet's info as well. My work blocks it.
