Isn’t that how Tiger King’s husband died? I feel like they should teach that bullet in the chamber thing in American elementary schools.

The Favre thing is strange. He made $1.1 million for speeches he never gave and the money came from a Mississippi assistance program. Today the state auditor (paraphrasing) “applauds him for making the program whole.“ It leaves out that there’s massive fraud at the center and Favre took money for doing nothing. Continues to prove he’s just a bad guy in an everyman wrapper.

Let me add the requisite “if this was Brady...”

Yes and now get ready to be aware of this being done wrong in every movie you will ever fucking see, only slightly less worse than people cocking assault rifles or weapons that would already have a round in the chamber, which should mean that round is ejected but never is.

Riddick is great but his knowledge of the game might be lost on the casual fan. Good for us that pay way too much attention though.

Tessitore seems like a good guy (and more importantly a BC alum to boot), but he was just too much. His energy level sat at a 9 out of 10 and spiked to 11 frequently, to the point where it was more exhausting than engaging to listen to him.

Anyways, while I prefer a more workmanlike performance a la Al Michaels, the issues with MNF run deeper than the broadcast crew. The games tend to be worse than the SNF slate, and ESPN’s production gives the telecast more of a carnival feel than the other major networks. I mean, those graphics? The mid-game concerts? The constant pumping of the MNF brand itself? NBC’s SNF telecast poses a jarring contrast in polish and, frankly, self-confidence in the product separate and apart from its STORIED HISTORY.

I'm sure I'll miss a few, but here are some contenders from their current roster...

Current (?) roster of ESPN NFL Football Analysts: Mike Golic, Tim Hasselbeck, Matt Hasselbeck, Mark Schlereth, Marcellus Wiley, Damien Woody, Teddy Bruschi, Jeremy Fowler, Keyshawn Johnson, Randy Moss, Jeff Saturday, Steve Young

Current (?) roster of ESPN Football PxP: Bob Wischusen, Chris Berman, Rece Davis, Chris Fowler, Steve Levy, Sean McDonough, Ryan Ruocco, Matt Vasgersian, Trey Wingo

I'd bet a woman in the booth somewhere. Lisa Salter could be good. Maybe Josina Anderson? Rachel Nichols? Suzy Kolber?

Mina Kimes should be on any list of analyst candidates. If ESPN is willing to invest in her and let grow into the job, she could be really, really good.

I don't know if this was mentioned anywhere else (I haven't seen it), but from November 10 through December 5, the Jets only play the Dolphins and vice versa. That's weird.

That's really stretching the point. They play on Nov. 15 and Nov. 29, with a bye week in between. If they were MLB, NBA or NHL teams ... then you could claim an oddity. Every NFL team has a three-week stretch with a bye in the middle.

I assume it’s Fowler and Herbstreit. Ratings are strong on Saturdays with that booth and they have Sunday to travel to the NFL venue.

Herbstreit's expertise is college football, and his tone is very much geared toward the college game. Fowler should be able to adapt to NFL commentary; I'm much less convinced Herbstreit automatically could. (And I think Herbie is an excellent analyst - definitely the best in college football, which isn't something could automatically say about Fowler as a play-by-play man.)

It hasn't happened since 1991, so we can claim an oddity.

What's particularly idiotic about the tweet is putting the same color background as the uniform. You can barely make out the middle blue uniform from the background. Something rocket science.

They look fine. I prefer white to yellow but if they’re going with yellow this is fine.

That's weird - it's still showing up for me. It's just a comparison of the Rams' all blue with the Chargers' all blue. Very similar.

this seems like a poor offseason plan

The
@MiramarPD
said an arrest warrant has been issued for Giants’ CB Deandre Baker and Seahawks’ CB Quinton Dunbar for four counts of Armed Robbery with a Firearm and four counts of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm. Incident occurred May 13.

Cops say Baker and Dunbar were allegedly hanging at a cookout -- playing cards and video games -- when an argument broke out and Baker whipped out a semi-automatic firearm.

Cops say the men began to rob party guests ... with Dunbar assisting in taking watches and other valuables at the direction of Baker.

At one point, cops say Baker directed a 3rd man -- who was wearing a red mask -- to shoot someone who had just walked into the party ... but fortunately, no one was actually shot.

They're working on a redesign of the Red Sox uniforms, which I am not excited about.
It’s the actual uniform, not the design.

https://nypost.com/2020/05/04/red-sox-are-exploring-changes-to-their-uniform/
Team president Sam Kennedy told The Athletic that the club will be talking with MLB’s new uniform provider, Nike, about ways to improve the performance of their classic uniforms. A full overhaul, much like the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams underwent recently, doesn’t seem likely.
“We are looking at changes as we go forward,” Kennedy said. “[The changes will be] likely geared to get us to a uniform that is geared towards high performance. We will always be respectful of our incredible traditional look and feel, but we are always open to new and different concepts as time goes by.”
