"Investigate these results"

"Confirm or rule out positive tests"

What does this mean?

They're positive. Stop trying to hide them, NFL.
Man you sure jumped to conclusions. I guess you could be on the injured list with a sprained ankle lol Everything is not a conspiracy you know? What proof did you have for your opinion? As it turned out you were wrong. Next time buddy wait for the facts to came out before coming to conclusions.

Calm down, dude. But I will take your point and perhaps give the NFL more of a benefit of the doubt next time.

Uh...2019 stats: 265 att, 1,152 yds, 4.3 ypc, 76 rec, 522 yds

No idea what salary he'd command but the guy is still pretty damned good. And he's just 25.

Can’t wait for people to call for investigations into Jacksonville for tanking, and call them “morally reprehensible.”

Less than his current $4M salary apparently.
Not necessarily. The Jags may have cut him for who knows what reason, but that doesn't mean that some other team won't be willing to pay him that kind of money. I'd love for him to be on NE for $2m....

Marrone says only in field reasons. I mean, that’s ridiculous but it’s what he said.

No way the Pats are top bidders for him.

Now if he wants a “play a year for BB to rebuild his reputation/value so he can cash in next year” deal then I’d be happy to give him a chance.

He's actually in a prime spot to do this. He would be the clear starter in New England. He'd only be 27 next year. This would be a great year to set the table for a final 3-4 year deal.

I am pipe dreaming I know...

I have a bad feeling he is going to Tampa. They dont seem to have much space but I could see some contracts being renegd...

They had been trying to trade him. Sorry, I should have included that in my original post.

Jaguars did all they could to trade RB Leonard Fournette in the spring and then again this summer. But as Jaguars’ HC Doug Marrone said today: "We couldn't get anything, a fifth, a sixth, anything. We couldn't get anything."

I don’t see too many teams with big RB holes. Ironically, the Jags minus Fournette are probably the worst. Redskins could certainly upgrade AP to Fournette.

I think the Pats actually have a pretty attractive situation for him, if they’re interested. Michel is coming off an injury and doesn’t have strong hold on the position. Harris seems more like a depth piece than frontline starter. A Cam/Fournette combo would be pretty intriguing to me.

Fournette was an $8MM salary cap hit for Jacksonville, but if he was traded, it would have been a little over $4MM for the receiving team, correct? That's less than Duke Johnson, Gio Bernard, Tevin Coleman, and Jordan Howard (just going of Spotrac's AAV, which isn't an apples to apples comparison, I know).

Jalen Richard is on a 2 year $7MM contract right now. But nobody was interested in Fournette for $4MM? I don't get this.

If they weren't already pretty set at RB my guess would have been Baltimore. My WAGs would be Philly, Washington, Miami, NE, Seattle. I don't think KC is a great fit but who knows, they did lose Damien Williams and may not want to rely 100% on a rookie back.

Eh, if you're a team and someone is calling you to give up an asset as bad as a 7th, and pay $4m, you have to figure you can just wait for him to hit the street and give him something like 2/6m on the open market and keep the asset or include an option or something that gives you a better deal cap wise as well.

So it appears that the Vikings are asking Reilly Reiff to take a pay cut or else he will be released. Even though he's been a LT for most of his career, he was the starting RT for the Lions in 2016. Might be worth the Pats kicking the tires on him if they're not sold on Eluemunor.

Wide receiver Josh Gordon's championship ring from Super Bowl LIII, which he was gifted by the New England Patriots despite not playing in the game, has sold for $138,000 at a sports auction, according to SportsCollectorsDaily.com.

It's a shame he sold it, but he played in 12 games that season and caught 41 passes for 737 yards. Players certainly have gotten rings for smaller contributions.

EDIT: Plus, he was under contract and played the following season (last season).

Obviously we are a scheme fit for him but is he any good? Football outsiders has him 34th in RB DVOA and DYAR. Pro Football Focus has him even below Michel at 47th overall. His pass blocking was graded as atrocious. If that grade is remotely accurate he isn’t welcome around here. None of the draft twitter/NFL twitter guys I follow are high on him. Plus the rumor is he has some off-field issues. Pass.

He has a back injury that he got an epidural for last week. I wonder if the Saints know something the rest of us do not. Otherwise, it's crazy to think they paid Hill and not him.

From that article, this dismissal of James White is so stupid it casts doubt on the entire piece:
If Cam Newton is truly going to succeed in New England, why not give him a reliable pass-catching option that can open up his scrambling ability and give opposing defenses nightmares? Sony Michel isn't reliable and who knows how dependable James White is now that Brady is in Tampa. Cam and Kamara would be a lot of fun and would also open up the playbook for Josh McDaniels]]
You know who knows if James White is reliable? Every fucking Person on the planet.

Random thought: Though I obviously hate the circumstances, I'm completely not missing pre-season games, or the same level of incessant camp coverage we normally get this time of year. It's actually increasing my anticipation for week 1. Whenever things return to something resembling normal, I really hope pre-season games become a permanent thing of the past. Joint practices, controlled scrimmages, etc. really ought to be enough to prepare and make roster decisions. One of the things that has somewhat turned me off on the NFL in recent years, is just the 24/7/365 relentless hype of it. Having a little less of that has been an unintended, good consequence of this sports year for me.

This is where I'm at as well. The Jags may have realized he is just a "jag" at this point buoyed by ridiculous volume in JAX, by most accounts he was a negative in the passing game despite great "fantasy" numbers.

Meanwhile, Mixon gets an extension. 4/48 with 10M bonus, base salaries of $8M in '21 and '22.

Paying RBs isn't exactly the rage, but Mixon is very young for a fourth-year player (just turned 24) and has fewer than 1000 carries including his college career. It also coincides with their rookie QB cap window so they should still have plenty more money to throw around, even after spending a ton this FA. Whether they actually choose to is another story.

Agreed. I also think there’s some value to making sure your young QB has some continuity in the backfield as part of his development. And Mixon has some upside that he hasn’t yet tapped into.

He's definitely developed into a patient runner as he's had to because he's played behind a bottom-5 OL since he's been in the league. Hopefully a healthy Jonah Williams at LT and last years fourth-rounder Michael Jordan (who was decent down the stretch as a 21 YO rookie and is drawing rave reviews in camp) at LG along with a solid C in Trey Hopkins can fix that, although the right side still hasn't really been addressed (they swapped out one mediocre starter for another at RG and Bobby Hart is still the RT) and has the potential to derail what could be a very good offense.
