I agree that was a late hit. But if the TB player slows up, Herbert, who had slowed down, could have turned upfield and picked up more yards. It's a tough spot for a defender to be in there.
Not likely. He was two steps out of bounds. Herbert is a brilliant young quarterback and if the league is serious about protecting players they should not tolerate that stuff.

I don’t know about Tampa Bay. Brady said you could look at it like it’s the 4th exhibition game, so you don’t know what you’re going to get. But they don’t look that good and I may need a different “second team” .

That’s a fumble with a clear recovery by LAC. I don’t think Howard was touched by a defender during the process of the catch.

Odd, he flat out dropped the ball when getting up to run.

What the hell? How did he give himself up? I’ve never seen that called when a player was looking to get up immediately after catching the ball.

Saying the player is giving himself up there is such a slippery slope for defenders who come in trying to dislodge the ball. That can't be the correct interpretation.
