Not likely. He was two steps out of bounds. Herbert is a brilliant young quarterback and if the league is serious about protecting players they should not tolerate that stuff.

I don’t know about Tampa Bay. Brady said you could look at it like it’s the 4th exhibition game, so you don’t know what you’re going to get. But they don’t look that good and I may need a different “second team” .
It appears he was not touched after the catch and was getting up to run and fumbled. We shall see.
That’s a fumble with a clear recovery by LAC. I don’t think Howard was touched by a defender during the process of the catch.

It's sad that it happened but the doctor who punctured the lung of Taylor was the best thing to happen to the Chargers this year.
What the hell? How did he give himself up? I’ve never seen that called when a player was looking to get up immediately after catching the ball.
Saying the player is giving himself up there is such a slippery slope for defenders who come in trying to dislodge the ball. That can't be the correct interpretation.
That was a ridiculous self bail out by the refs there. They fucked up the call. Could they have awarded the ball to the Chargers? Play was blown dead.
