The 3 batter minimum really screwed LA here. Baez couldn’t get Freeman and then had to stay in for the righties, which he has reverse splits against.

Bellinger with a sweet running catch to limit damage on a deep ball to center. 6-0, two down, first and third. Need a new pitcher.

shame the Braves don't have a better mop-up guy than Tomlin. That error though made things REALLY close.

the Dodgers are capable of ripping off 4 in a row. Now the Braves only need to win one of the next three and Fried can finish the series on regular rest, so you can argue the Dodgers need to win the next 3, no margin for error. Braves have some.

as it stands, with no days off and the Braves' depth being much worse, this is one of the weakest 2-0 leads I've seen ever. But it is still 2-0.

I'm still bummed about losing that series. In some ways even more than 2003.
Matt Garza? I mean, seriously?

0 all-star seasons. that was his first year as a starter, and his career high point with a 119 ERA+. He would go on to start one game in the WS and got shelled. But that one fucking night, he HAD to out-duel Jon Lester.

It doesn't touch 2003 for me. Not even in the same league. That was against the Yankees, one of the most fun Sox teams of our generation, but a roster and team that was fatally flawed, doomed to lose in one of the most tragic ways possible. The 2008 Rays did it on a $44M payroll, if our lineup couldn't crack them that was on us.

Have the Braves been behind in the postseason even once yet? I know they’ve scored first in every game.

By the way, it occurs to me that there's never been a better time for neutrals to root for the Braves - because you're not going to have to hear the Tomahawk Chop, like, at all. (Certainly not en masse - I think there might have been a few fans doing it last night, but still.)
This is just what I have been thinking. It is possible that the few hundred idiots tomahawking in the stands will be enough to make me cheer the laker tainted dodgers

No, they have not been behind yet.
I hope CP isn't up at 3am watching this, dude won't sleep all night, win or lose.
Thankfully I went to bed after three-and-a-half innings - I wasn't feeling great yesterday - and watched the game this morning. Because you're right, that finish would have been indigestion-causing. (Has Albies forgotten how to play defense?) Really, I understand using Tomlin as a mop-up guy with a five-run lead; anything higher-leverage than that, his bottom should be glued to the bullpen bench. Anyway, a win is a win!
I’m so sorry @Conigliaro's Potential
It's just funny at this point.

slight correction - in game 1 of the NLDS, Miami did have a slight lead most of the game.
Yes, you're absolutely right - I'd forgotten that the Marlins had taken a 4-1 lead. Mea culpa.

By the way, did anyone else notice that the Braves had an 8 to 3 lead going into the 9th last night? (Not quite 28 to 3, about as close as you can get in baseball....)

They led Game 2 8-3
