Struck me as a guy filming B roll thinking nothing of it being told he just fucked up and was trying to unwind it. Hard to argue that represented the Patriots cheating scheme... it was not subtle.

The video guy sounds sleazy. Like he is trying to talk his way out of a ticket.

But why is there no repercussion for the Bengals leaking this or why does the league get to? This seems clearly a precursor to a significant fine or worse. You leak this to grease the skids for a big penalty.

We ALL know that if this was another team’s guy, after looking at that, nobody would think they’re doing anything untoward.

But... Patriots.

Or to put pressure on the league when you hear that the Pats are getting a slap on the wrist and you’re a vindictive prick organization.

It was the league on gameday to maximize drama. Nothing new.

The video shows nothing. Interesting that they focused on the "I can delete this" discussion. The Bengals security guy sounds like he is of the intelligence we should expect for league Gestapo.

It’s pretty simple on intent. If Pats have done it every week, they’re cheating. If it’s a one off during this documentary, not. Should take an hour to investigate.

The camera seems to be following the action on the field and not zooming in on sidelines, which is a point in out favor.

ITS TOO LATE FOR THAT THE DAMAGE IS DONE

That security guy must’ve been waiting for a moment like this to shine.
Whether it’s purposeful or not, he’s being sooop obtuse there. “I don’t see the advanced scout in any of this!” Dude, you’ve watched TV shows before, right? Typical tough guy security.

Yeah, this combined with the reports coming out late last night make me think someone isn’t happy about the lack of heat on the Pats and is trying to pump it up. Bengals? League? Could be both.

I’m a Patriots’ fan, but I don’t think you folks are looking at this objectively. I thought the Fox video makes the Pats look terrible. The static shots of the Bengals sideline don’t look like useable b-roll and the camera man begging to delete the footage sounds to me like a guy who knows that what he did is a big problems and is trying cover it up.

I agree it will *look* bad to the general public but if you look at it objectively and apply logic, the asking to delete shows nothing more than a camera man reacting to a bully security, realizing they fucked up, and trying to salvage their job / reputation / business relationships.

Yeah the Pats are going to get smashed on this and probably should. Even if the intent wasn't there that's the result.

Yeah, it’s almost like he was afraid of getting suspended from his job or something.

's report that the Patriots suspended the traveling producer who taped the Bengals' sideline: Sources told me Jonathan Kraft stormed into the TV production office Monday, had a closed door meeting and the producer hasn't been back since.

As usual, put out by the NFL right before BB and the players have mandatory press conferences.

I've been on the "the Pats are gonna get hammered for this" wagon. I hope I'm wrong. But I thought the Fox video was unbelievably benign and totally smacks of B-roll footage. That's literally what B-roll footage would look like. Not focusing in on anyone, general looks at an NFL sideline. If you were told to get B-roll footage of an NFL sideline, that's pretty much exactly what you'd shoot.

Put it this way: if you were trying to actually get footage showing signals and play sheets or whatever, the videographer was absolutely HORRIBLE at his job.

As to the "begging to delete the footage"...I didn't hear that at all. I heard a Bengals' employee thinking he caught the Patriots' hand in the cookie jar, told the videographer he's in big trouble, and the videographer saying, ok if this isn't cool, I can delete the video easy.

I thought it supported the Pats' story big-time.

I still think they're gonna get hammered though.

I can’t wait for Clint Eastwood to make a movie about that Bengals security guard.

Not to me. To me it sounds like he was told he effed up and said “Shit, my bad you can just delete it”. Sure you could read that differently but you don’t have to.

same here. I’d love to hear the conversation 60 seconds before that clip. Seems like they started the leaked clip to start without context

Lol. Not sure if serious.
It wouldn’t shock me at this point. I’m not saying it’ll happen but considering how often people manufacture fake scandals about this team and then use those as an excuse to issue absurd punishments, I wouldn’t be surprised if this nothingburger became another one of those instances.

The league has a history of having it out for the Pats and every other team and fanbase can’t comprehend that their franchise isn’t as smart or skilled top to bottom as the Pats are so, therefore, they must be a bunch of filthy cheaters. Accept that everyone else is jealous and stupid, roll your eyes at the eventual punishment, go ahead and win the trophy anyway, and then lap up the tears. Rinse and repeat like we’ve all done before. Screw ‘em.
