We used to do a yearly photo thread, but since we’re all in quarantine, I thought this year’s might be interesting/different. I was cleaning out a drawer yesterday and came up with this pic, which had me longing for Fenway. Some people frame tickets - please share any pics that will keep us entertained while isolated. 29787

I regret that I've never saved ticket stubs, but I found these stuck in a book the other day. The most amazing thing to me were the prices, even though I remember going to games when I was in college and paying even less. (I guess they raised ticket prices by $1.00 from 85 to 86, and I'm sure some fans complained.)

Opening Day, 2005. The opening ceremonies were beyond fantastic. Of course. Near the end, there was a moment of silence for the recently departed Pope John Paul II. There was also a moment of silence for the late, great Dick Radatz. The ballpark was absolutely silent. Then some leatherlungs over near third base yells out, and I swear they heard it at the back of the bleachers: "Hey, Arod [very long pause . . . ballpark still completely quiet] YOU SUCK!" One of my best memories of Fenway ever. This photo was on the front page of the Globe. Those are my hands. I apologized to the photographer for getting in his way, then saw the paper the next morning.

A guy in the row behind me quietly observed "Monster would've loved that."

Nice job adding to the photo!
