Gasper is just a more reserved Volin. The 2019 Patriots receivers of the sports writing world.

Frankly, all of this is conjecture and I don't really care about the opinion of anyone who has a vested interest in having people click their columns for the next two months.

Chris Gasper of the Globe is on 98.5. He is pretty plugged in to the Brady camp. He just said that Brady's stance has softened quite a bit in terms of leaving. Gasper previously said during the year that his first choice would be to leave but now he says he's hearing the first preference is to stay and work something out.
Which means his agent checked around and found that there wasn't nearly as much market for his client as he'd hoped there would be.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned, but theoretically, Buffalo makes sense (good talent on both sides of the ball, good coach, just need a competent NFL quarterback).

Of course it’s highly unlikely for a lot of reasons. But on the 0.0001% chance that it does, could we create a thread title next year: “2020 Buffalo Bills: Tom Brady Stands Up When He Pees”?

brady is 80% back I think he wants to go back as long as ne offers a 2-3 year deal I think I would do it as long as brady shows up for the ota's maybe 2y 46 mil or 3y/75 mil with the 3rd year being a placeholder

There appear to be two significant developments as it relates to Tom Brady's future, which were revealed on Tuesday's The Greg Hill Show by Greg Hill himself.

“The Brady suite at Gillette Stadium where (Gisele Bundchen) has been known to watch her husband play football has been cleaned out," he said.

Hill added: “It would appear to be, by those who are in the know, that it has been cleaned out in way that perhaps it has never has been cleaned out before.”

In addition, Hill said Brady and his family have already moved out of their Brookline, Massachusetts home and moved into their recently purchased home in Greenwich, Connecticut.

If he moved out of his house in Brookline, it would follow that the suite is cleared out. Highly unlikely that the family would make the trek to Foxboro for home games.

Wow we really are into crazy season. The implication of this article is that Brady has already made the decision to go to another team, but that seems extremely unlikely given that he very likely doesn't have any idea what the Patriots' best offer will be, and certainly doesn't have any idea what any other team's best offer will be. The chances that Brady has decided "I'm going to a different team regardless of what offers I get from the Pats or anyone else" are virtually zero.

Edit: and elsewhere in the article Brady is quoted as saying substantial contract talks with the Pats haven't even really begun in earnest yet, so unless you think he's completely lying the article is clickbait and nothing more.

Could be some gamemanship, maybe making it clear to the Patriots/other teams that he's serious about talking to other teams.

Could be. Could also be a legal/contractual thing - given that the suite is presumably a perk of his contract and his contract will be expiring, he won't technically have the right to use the suite after he formally becomes a free agent and will have to re-negotiate that in his next contract if he re-signs with the Pats.

New England's Rising Star
I don't think he's going to be living away from his family in Greenwich during the football season, and that commute is impossible if he's playing in New England.

He's gone, probably retiring IMO, we'll hear about it sometime after the Super Bowl probably.

Brady can easily afford a luxury apartment or condo close to Foxboro to live in during the regular season. And the commute from Greenwich to Foxboro is assuredly much shorter than the commute from Greenwich to LA, Tampa, Indy, or any of the other rumored destinations. Between bye weeks, Monday's after Sunday games, weekends after Thursday night games, etc., Brady will still have ample opportunity to go back to his house during the season. Actually, there may very well be days where Greenwich to Foxboro is less time than Brookline to Foxboro.

#CleanTheSuite is kind of humorous, actually.

It was pretty widely reported last offseason that the family was moving to Greenwich.
I guess the fact that they have actually moved is news but really doesn't tell us anything new about Brady's future.

New England people are bitches mostly in terms of travel compared to the rest of the country. My sister can get from Greenwhich to the North Shore in about 3 hours. If Brady gets a place in the Providence area he's not that far from home, never mind NE CT. I'm not saying it will happen at all but many New England people make it a mountain out of a mole hill since many think anything outside of 495 is Canada.

This is just such a bizarre take. Hes said 45 and he keeps repeating it.

Brady 3 months ago (October): "nothing has changed. I don’t know why it's being brought up."

Brady three weeks ago (December 23) in a "Today" interview: “I think I've said for a long time, my tune hasn't changed, I hope to continue playing."

Brady when asked about retiring after the Titans game (January 4th): "I would say it’s pretty unlikely, hopefully unlikely.”

Hell, this was Guerrero in November: “We talk about it all the time. Every year he just adds another year. He goes in and he’s like, ‘Guys, I feel so good still. I think I am going to go till 45.’ I am like, ‘OK.’ Now he’s like, ‘Alex, I think I can go like 46 or 47.’”

If he retires, it would be a complete about face from everything hes stated for quite some time.

Couldn’t agree more. There is no reason to not take Brady at his word,, to believe what he has said OVER AND OVER AND OVER and every time he’s been asked. It’s just ridiculous to assume he’s retiring.

So he's been planning his exit strategy for some time now!

This is exactly right. I pointed this out a couple weeks ago that he was looking at houses in Greenwich, not LA. There is literally no evidence he's retiring, and now, there's even less evidence he's looking to leave New England. The only way this could look otherwise is if Giselle said "Tom, I'll let you keep playing, but I'm not going to be stuck here in Brookline, MA. We're moving to Greenwich, so I can go to NYC whenever I want and you'll just have to move or live wherever you play." No chance he's going to be playing in LA or Tampa after moving his family to Greenwich. It doesn't make sense unless he made a deal with Giselle, which I don't buy.

He wanted to be closer to his son, who I believe is in New York with his mother, and he wanted to be able to get to Foxboro. Greenwich it is. If he retires, so be it and I'll be happy for him, but I don't see that as an option, and the fact he's staying in New England for his permanent home should give people confidence he's staying in, well, New England, to play football too.

You guys are all wrong. We just got definitive proof that the NFL is expanding. Get ready to purchase your Greenwich "2 and 20s" gear soon. Their jerseys will be the only ones in the league made out of Patagonia vests.

MSN: Tom Brady "embarrassed" by [relatively low] salary", plans to move out of New England

SoSH: InstaFace "embarrassed" by Jason Rowan having a platform, and just using it to regurgitate Gary Tanguay, plans to not read again.

(mostly posting so you can see what's getting clicks, the article's not worth the powder to blow it to digital hell)

Gary Tanguay relayed both the "embarrassed" anecdote and the "moving out of New England" anecdote. And he's not exactly Reiss or Curran when it comes to connections. But then the article goes on to point out that they haven't sold their Brookline home despite it being listed, that the family has a ton of properties all over the region, and that Brady has voluntarily accepted less than his full market value throughout his career. But having noted that, they apparently feel free to draw the opposite conclusion anyway, because Tanguay.

What a load of crap.

FWIW, Tanguay was apparently claiming that Manfred told John Henry that if the Sox didn't fire Cora immediately, MLB would vacate the Red Sox 2018 title. That should tell you all you need to know about Tanguay's so-called "sources".

Hey, he was in "Knives Out", for what that's worth. (and it was an awesome movie, btw)

This guy is known as a garbage reporter, right? Is my memory serving me correctly?

CBS Sports (La Conforta): Tom Brady prepared to meet with teams other than the Patriots in 2020 free agency
For the first time in his NFL career, Tom Brady is prepared to discuss a future with teams beyond the New England Patriots, sources said, and for the first time since he took over as a starter nearly two decades ago, the Patriots are unsure of who will be under center in 2020.

It would be extremely surprising if Brady were to agree to any new pact with the Patriots prior to the start of free agency in March, I'm told, and while his process could still result in a return to New England it is far from certain at this point. Brady intends to take a methodical approach to his first foray into free agency, as, at age 42, this will be the final contract of his playing career.

Brady and his team will weigh all options available to determine which opportunity provides the best chance to continue competing for the Lombardi Trophy and to see what other organizations think of him at this late stage in his career. As one source put it, Brady will do his due diligence to assess all realistic possibilities, with it only "human nature" to explore this chance to embrace his free-agent status for the first time in his career.
Brady has long been contemplating his football mortality and continues to tell friends and confidants that he anticipates playing until at least age 45. His love for the game has not diminished. But there is some uncertainty about the Patriots organization -- how much longer Robert Kraft will oversee the day-to-day operations, and how much longer Bill Belichick will coach, for instance -- and also a need to upgrade the cast around Brady on the offensive side of the ball, where a lack of speed and young talent was a weekly hindrance in 2019.

Brady also is eager to take on the role of mentor to a young quarterback, no matter where he plays, hoping to leave any organization in good shape when he retires. Part of his legacy, he believes, could be tied to seeing future generations embrace the TB12 training and lifestyle regimen that Brady strongly believes has helped him play so long at such a high level.

It's possible he ends up bringing part of The Patriot Way to another organization. Or he might decide that remaining a Patriot for his entire career is the way to go. Regardless, no decisions have even come close to being made and none is expected until the middle of March, when the market officially opens.

There must be a couple NFL games on today, with teams not named Patriots. Click click click bait baby.
I have no doubt that on Super Bowl Sunday sources will be saying that Brady is 100% signing with another team.

I get a kick out of the part where Tom's supposed to be worried that Robert Kraft won't be involved in day to day operations much longer. One of the rumored possible destinations for Tom is the Chargers. So . . . he would be uncertain about Robert Kraft being involved enough, apparently, what, not trusting Jonathan? And his response would be to flee to the Spanos family.
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.
