BC will be wearing the red bandana uniforms for the Umass game (on 9/11)
Interesting. In the past they've done that in the "big" games, usually on national TV and at home. Is it just because of the date?

I believe they are wearing them because of the date but it’s not “the” red bandana game and it’s an away game.

I’m at the game. I have 6+ feet empty in two directions and 12+ feet empty on the others, this far.hopefully it stays. Kinda surprised how empty it is but without the emptiness I wouldn’t be here. Perfect day of weather. F’in gorgeous

Left at halftime

listened to last half of 3rd and first half of fourth on radio. Defense seemed awful. Levy’s return sounded like it saved the day

hopefully Jurk isn’t seriously hurt

Jurk just posted a surgery recovery photo at Newton-Wellesley…and then deleted it. But it looked real. I think he’s out for a long time and potentially the season.

F*ck.

Well that sucks.

one good thing I can say about Grosel is that his folks are very nice people to strangers and put on a great tailgate.

Really too bad. Defense looked soft but they seemed to be in good shape for a 8-4 or 9-3 (10-2 on the outside) record this season. Grosel isn't awful but he's going to cap their upside here significantly. 6-6? 7-5?

Not that he would, most likely, but would Jurk have TWO more years left? Could he get a medical redshirt or is the so-called Covid year use-or-lose?

I don’t know the last time BC admissions accepted a kid within a 50-mile radius of Columbia, Mo

He probably should have got them to schedule another non conference powerhouse like Central Michigan, Southeast Missouri State, and North Texas

deep inside Guido territory
Non-Conference opponents lined up for Missouri next year include Middle Tennessee, K-State, Abilene Christian and New Mexico. 2023--South Dakota, MTSU, K-State, Memphis. 2024-Murray State, Buffalo, BC, and at the great MA state flagship university and known football power UMass(playing them 2025 too). Real regional powerhouse teams on those schedules.

Well in defense of his point, this is his second year there and the schedule was set before he came.

A nice win, but not a storm the field win. A game against an unranked middle of the pack opponet is exactly the game a team like BC should be winning.

Given the last decade+ of futility, I’ll allow it. Beating a decent SEC team with your backup is a nice accomplishment even if the field storming is over the top.

Not to mention there haven’t been real live fans for a full year and it was an emotional OT win. Just good to have fun. Clemsons fans are on the field every game it’s tradition.

If you can't get excited about how this game ended you probably shouldn't be watching sports.
Excited, yes. But again, this is exactly the type of game you should be winning. Storm the field when you beat a top 10 team or are a double digit underdog. Doing it for a game lihe this just makes you look bad.

Knocking of the door of the top 25. Are 27th in the coaches poll and 29th in the AP.

Of course they’re playing at a pissed off Clemson team next week and will likely get rolled.

It'll ber curious to see if Hafley's name comes up with USC if guys like Franklin, Fickell, Meyers, etc... turn them down. The rest of this season probably will tell the story because 2020 was such a weird year that I don't know how you consider it when evaluating a first time head coach. USC is a big time job though and the relative lack of head coaching track record may rule him out. But I think it's more than fair to say that at the moment he is a coach on the rise and could get alumni at some big time programs excited.

The USC job is open now and there are some other interesting jobs that may be looking for a coach soon.... Florida State, Nebraska, Mississippi Sate, Virginia Tech, Miami and, if Franklin goes to USC, the Penn State job. But I'm not sure some of those spots would be worth jumping to from BC. If you're an up and coming coach are, despite their tradition, dumpster fires like Miami or Nebraska worth it vs. continuing to build your resume by winning and holding out for a place that gives you a better chance to win?

BC fans always play this fear game way prematurely but i do think Haf is an intriguing guy. He’s also shown an ability to improve recruiting right away as well. The one thing I wonder, however, is if he is more interested in a pro level job given his background. I know that’s a tougher proposition but his career is filled with pro jobs.

Hafley is definitely going to leave for bigger and better things but I think we're 1-2 years away from that discussion.

I think he seems very happy here. We'll just have to see how the relationship plays out over time.

Also I think from his comments he wants to be in college football and not the pros.

I’m not so sure. Clemson has some OL and skill player issues that aren’t easily or quickly solved. Combine that with losing Bresee for the season and you’ve got a team that’s ripe for picking.

Just can’t see BC winning down there with Grosel at QB even with all of Clemson’s issues. If Jurk were healthy, a different story.

Well, I hope not because I would still like to see Clemson salvage their season. I don’t think that’s the sentiment of most in this thread, though. ;)

Let's see what BC's running game can do against Clemson- you would think their strategy would be to load the box up with bodies and make Groesel win the game by throwing.

The big gainers they pulled off against Missouri were pretty impressive.
