Not just current FR and SO. It potentially has some effects at the HS level. Note the two flips that Jackson State HC "Neon" Deion "Prime Time" Sanders was able to swing: the consensus #1 player in the country - CB Travis Hunter, and the #4 WR - Kevin Coleman. Both were verbal commits to Florida State. Hunter flipped on NLI signing day back in December. Coleman flipped during his reveal at the All American Bowl in San Antonio this past weekend.

I'm sure that Sanders, marketing guru that he is, likely whispered into their ears just how much more profitable their branding efforts will be at JU vs. FSU.
Deion’s next big play will be to secure a television or streaming rights deal like a baby-Notre Dame. You can’t maximize branding if nobody sees you play.

@CFB_Rules so football Zebras was able to get its hands on the replay video/discussion that happened during the Championship game.

During college football’s National Championship game, a pivotal play deep in Georgia territory provided a really tight decision making process in the replay booth on two elements: whether Bulldogs quarterback Stetson Bennett threw a forward pass or fumbled and did Crimson Tide defensive back Brian Branch have possession of the ball before going out of bounds.

Football Zebras has been able to obtain the tape of the replay communications, and it shows how carefully and methodically the process is navigated.

The replay official was Peter Vaas, assisted by his communicator Caz Kosiolek, both from the Atlantic Coast Conference. On a typical game during the season, they have a couple of people manipulating the video controls in the booth, and that’s pretty much it. But this wasn’t an ordinary game. Also in the booth is Dean Blandino (in his capacity as the national director of replay) and ACC officiating supervisor Dennis Hennigan. We haven’t been able to identify who, but there also appears to be a secondary replay official on a headset who is a sounding board during the replay process.
I’m interested in hearing your thoughts on the process the replay HQ went thru to get to their final decision

I think they basically did a great job. There are always going to be things to nitpick (They should have reviewed the hand first, because the recovery doesn't matter if they decide it was a pass). But the RO even admitted that they were doing it ass-backwards live, and maybe going through the angles he just happened to stumble upon a great look at the sideline first and thought it would be faster.

There is a sense of "too many cooks" though. There are a lot of voices that kind of muddied the process. Duane and the Communicator obviously should be there. Dennis and Blandino are going to be there (whether they should be or not). That leaves the other guy, Dave, who I'm guessing is part of the ACC Replay Command Center in Greensboro.

Out of curiosity I went and listened to some of the other replay reviews from the game and they didn't seem to have this problem, it was just the replay official, communicator, and Referee talking. So maybe the "tight" aspects of this play got everybody excited and they got a little too involved.

To your knowledge have any ACC referees requested a translator while speaking with Peter Vaas of Westwood, Massachusetts?

You mean after not having coached nor lived in the area since 1995 Peter Vaas still has a terrible Boston accent?

By the way, one of the back judges in that game lives in Arlington. An ACC ref, said he'd been shut out of the playoffs several times because Clemson was a participant.

You can’t work in the CFP Championship game if any teams in your conference make the final four. Notre Dame counts as ACC in this arrangement. This was the first year the ACC was eligible. The SEC will never be eligible.
