2021 NLCS: Braves vs. Dodgers

It's beyond ridiculous that Atlanta gets home-field advantage over Los Angeles despite winning 18 (eighteen) fewer games than the Dodgers in the regular season. And I'm a Braves fan.

I have zero expectations for Atlanta in this series, but it's nice to be back in the LCS. And maybe the Dodgers are banged up enough for this to be competitive? Of course, it's baseball, so anything can happen...

It really is crazy. It’s one thing for the matchups to be decided as they are, but in no way does Atlanta deserve home field over LA.

It won’t likely matter. Dodgers in five. (Sorry Braves fans)

Let’s go Braved. I am homing that you get to the World Series and meet the Red Sox. I will be attending pm person depending on the ouch factor on ticket prices.

Just tuning in. What’s with the fuzz on the pitchers cleats?

Joe Kelly in for the 7th. Retired the side. Tomahawk chop in the background. My daughter and SiL are at the game. She would not commit to taking me if the Sox and Braves play. Downgrading her Christmas present list as retribution.

I think the Sox game earlier was in the 5th inning at about this time point. Nice to see this pace. I guess not faking injuries will do that

I don't understand what he saw there. Even if Taylor see he's at the ball sooner than he thought, all his momentum is towards third plus the longer throw. Disastrous base running.

Atlanta winning keeps an obscure Red Sox record alive from 1999. In Games 4/5 of that season’s ALDS, both starters went 1.2 IP or fewer. That was and is the only instance where a team won consecutive postseason games when this was the case.

The Hammers have a lot of players that are easy to root for, and I'm really tired of the Dodgers.

Have a feeling with the current trend of “openers” and starters getting yanked early this record won’t be around for much longer.

These are my two least favorite NL teams, I hate to root for the Dodgers but a) they have Mookie (I get why we moved him, but I can't quit him) and b) they do not have racist chants and gestures.
How anyone can root for Trienen IDK

Agree. When I was looking this up, I expected to find another more recent example.

Including Wild Card games, teams that have walked off Game 1 with a win have gone 20-6 in prior series. Has some connections to today’s teams as well: First to lose such a series? Braves in 1958. Most recently NL club to lose such a series? Astros against the Dodgers, 1981.

I stand by the gist of my original comment - the easier road for the Sox is who I’m rooting for preferably in a seven game, 20 innings per game, bullpen decimating series.

Freddie Freeman is not having the best start to the NLCS. 0-6, 6 strikeouts
