It's a big field (156) but there aren't a lot of exemptions. It's basically the top 60 players in the OWGR as of two or three weeks before the tournament. Varner's highest ranking this year was 73. There's a few other exemptions (major winners the last 5 years, past US Open champs within the last 10 years, multiple tour wins between Open's, players who made the Tour Championship the previous season), but the only other way in is through qualifying. The qualifying is tough. 36 holes in one day, usually 70-80 players per site for 3-5.

Mickelson wasn't qualified until he won the PGA (but the USGA offered him a special invite).
Thank you. My guys are grinders, they are always playing, except for the big tourneys. Then they are OUT.

Hey Vegas, I’m sure we’ll audit it at the end but I’m not seeing my credit for half of the memorial win.

Looks like me and Scotty split this major. I’ve won 1.5 out of 4 major payouts. Hopefully that bodes well for the open.
I'm going to share this here because it's blowing my mind. I had to review the entire formula that calculates the weekly winners to see what the issue was here. I found 2 tiny errors that I have no idea how they got there but so it goes. Somehow those 2 errors were both on parts of the formula that calculated weeks that you were one of the winners. So odd.

It's fixed now.

Had guys finish 3rd 2nd 2nd and 3rd in the 4 double money majors for a total of 1/2 a weekly win, so of course, had guys win in back to back weeks that didn't count for anything (outside of getting van rooyen into the playoffs)

I am really rooting against my team going into the playoffs.

I am looking to lock up...lowest point totals, missed cuts, 1 major, and 1 non major - for a tidy profit.

My team pick the wrong week to stop sniffing glue. But I have 5 guys who made the playoffs, hoping to hold onto this lead.

half way through the first day of Tournament 1 of the Finals - I have changed the outlook for my team.

I will pass on lowest points total. But still want most missed cuts.

Now I want JT to win the whole fedex cup, and I wouldn't mind picking up another week win, with one of the worst team's out there.

I don't know what's worse, the fact that I'm in 2nd to last place in points, or that I'm in 16th in missed cuts.

Basically, my guys make cuts, and then suck ass, week after week after week. It's kind of impressive when you think about it.

I have to take small moral victories in this league, because that's all I got. If my team finished 1-8 in this weeks' event, I'm pretty sure I'd still be middle of the pack.

yup.....i really wished the final week counted too because i have 4 in the top 30 right now but none will have a chance to win (unless they have a ridiculous finish this week). But five out of 70 this week ill take my chances.

Another season, another 1st round pick curse from yours truly. Sigh.

My first round pick didn't even make the playoffs. My 2nd round pick didn't make it to the 2nd stop. I'll be lucky to get 1 player into the TC.

Brutal year for me, but at least I'm ahead of @Deathofthebambino

Missed cuts will be mine! My squad is working hard to claim that "title"

I think we all have 5 going except Scotty who may have six if Louis plays.

The current overall standings aren't correct, it pulled the wrong numbers for the Northern Trust, they don't match the final live standings

Looks like you are correct. The results source was slow to update so I must have moved the results over before they were done. I think it's fixed now.

True true....great battle for 2-5th this year....thanks for nothing johnmd haha
It was a good season, my team showed up almost every week. I guess that's the key in this pool, you need a bunch of guys to keep playing. I have never had that experience in this pool. I didn't realize the Tour Championship didn't count for the standings. Kyoung Lee almost made the top 30 and I was sweating that. But I guess I didn't need to.

Anyway, whatever I win will go back into the pool for next year, except for my 2022 ante amount and I would also like to pay for Vegas Sox Fan's 2022 ante for the work done on keeping the spreadsheet. The rest can go towards the pool for the weekly winners. Or whatever the Commissioners decide.

I just did a quick check of the standings compared to the full results and found no inconsistencies so I didn't dig much deeper. As always additional auditing is welcome and appreciated.

I had the 2nd most total points in the league over the last 4 weeks and didn't even sniff winning a week. Sigh.

Solid question. My first instinct was that we are prematurely complaining about the start date again but based on previous threads we are a little behind. Typically the draft would be starting next week and I'm not sure if we have even discussed who's in or payments.

My understanding is that everything in the results spreadsheet is up to date in terms of fees. (Example: I elected to roll over my meager winnings, so I owe $75 for next year.) All we need is a consensus as to when we begin and a show of hands about who is in.

I should note that I am in.

Yes but there is usually a pre-draft thread that would have been started about 2 weeks ago. I'll message Zomp.

I'm in. As I mentioned, whatever I won last year should pay for my entry fee and Vegas' entry fee and the rest of it can go into the pool for 2022. Maybe just add it to the majors, divided by 4?
