I guess that Lebron = Ratings, so that's why the Lakers are on. But the East is a lot deeper than the West, so we should be getting 3 games.

The issue is that the better East teams not in the XMAS schedule do not have the same set of marquee players: Bulls, Cavs, Raptors all have good players, but none are at the same level as Jokic, Luka, Ja, etc. And the Nets have some obvious turmoil on their roster; had KD not made his trade request, they would easily displace one of the Western teams not named Golden State.

Heat probably have the biggest gripe, given that they were one win away from their 2nd Finals appearance in 3 years, and are certainly more deserving than either Suns or Lakers. Consider them collateral damage from the KD fiasco.

Sounds like we're getting Sixers-Celtics on opening day, along with Lakers-Warriors

Did they change NBA scheduling this year? For example, I thought they always play two games in DC, but I only see one away game there on the schedule in late-March. I was only aware of upcoming changes to the MLB scheduling process.

A lot of games over holidays but breaks / road trips are huge

So NBA/Celtics a fan of Netflix but not Hulu (binging)

You can never be sure how teams will actually turn out, but the November and March schedules look pretty squishy to me at first glance. Real opportunities to start strong and finish strong (or rest guys as needed). Only a small handful of games against teams I'd expect to be in the top 4 of their conference.

I admit to some potential bias in that I am probably on the higher end of projecting how good the Celtics will be.

I haven't been to a game since 2019. I hope to finally make it back to the Garden this year. As a CPA who lives in Maine and can't make winter games, I'm happy there are some good fall/early winter Friday night matchups. None of Cleveland, Chicago, Denver, and Miami should be stinkers.
