Yeah, Luis Castillo and Freddy Peralta also just got pulled by their clubs, so the Dominican Republic has some SP issues all of a sudden.

I don't care much about the WBC either way (I know some people love it), but MLB pitchers trying to hit that level of intensity so early in the season only leads to bad things. The fewer Yankees participating, the better IMO.

I would do a 26 man opening day roster prediction but I think it's premature before the first guys are put on the 60 day IL at the start of spring training (Mike Axisa thinks the allowed date is Feb 21 for NY this year, very hard info to find somehow) and we see who takes those spots. Britton is still out there and NY's only lefty reliever on the 40 man is Wandy (they have plenty of righties that are very good against lefties though). Britton did not have good velocity (or control) when he came back briefly last year and he really needs 95-96 (and control) to be an asset, but I think if Cashman wants him, he'll be back.

NY has Effross definitely going on the 60 day (out for the season), Gil if needed and maybe Montas too.
