Losing 4-0 in turnover battle

gonna lose first time ever to Ucon

too Bad it’s a short week (and it’s not how they do things) but Hadley should go before daylight time change.
The OL and OC hires just show poor decision making

looking like 2-10 season, unless they can beat Duke on Military Night

just unacceptable

I know it’ll come back to coaching, but at the end of the day it’s all about recruiting talent. Is BC that hard of a sell?

Hafley can’t survive after this year now, right?
I guess the case for keeping him is that the OL has been decimated by injuries, and what are the chances we’d be able to find someone any better?

On the other hand, is there anyone he’s recruited who’ve been any good? He might be a good motivator, but he’s shown zero ability to build a decent staff.

The issue with haf is he knows nothing about offense and has handed that side of the ball to veteran offensive minds who look the part but in reality the game passed them by years ago.

Not sure why any good coach would want to come in under dead man walking, so it's pretty much helpless until haf is gone.

That was such an awful football game.

Every player on the BC offense should get a failing grade for that performance. And UConn wasn't much if any better. Good grief UConn committed 10 false start penalties, at home in a stadium where there was absolutely no noise.

As with any other leader, theres confidence right up until theyre canned. BC isnt going to fire a coach midseason absent a criminal/serious ethical issue. I suspect hell be fired the week after the season is over when he ends up at 2-10 or 3-9 with 5 or so terrible losses.

Spaz had an 8 win season where he piggybacked off his predecessors roster. Even then the only reason he made it to year 4 was he was Gene's pet (let him come to practices and provide input - basically anything to keep the check coming)

IMO, there is a zero percent chance he gets fired this year regardless of record. We’ve just seen too many examples of BC keeping bad/struggling coaches around a year or two longer than they should to think this instance will be any different.

It’s very empty in the seats at the Heights tonight depending on how early that pregame ceremony took place

The run defense has been brutal early for Bc

A couple big HB draws and then QB runs for 60 yard TD

On the, ahem, bright side, Emmett “Agnes” Moorehead hasn’t looked terrible. He had a good arm, has moved around decently in the pocket and made some really nice passes. Considering he was starting for the Woodside Wildcats last year, not bad.

Just threw a nice fade for a TD.

I guess Addazio went 3-9 in year 3 and survived - I had forgotten that he had bottomed out that low. That was coming off their somewhat surprising 2014 season where they had the USC upset so I think he had shown some ability to win something. This was a really soft schedule and theres a good chance at 2-10 - I dont think he survives that. Quite frankly I dont think he survives 3-9 - he hasnt a single signature win in three years.

Edit: I was no Dazzler fan, but he at least really came in when the program was in a truly shitty situation. Hafley came in to a situation that was much more stable. To be terrible in year 3 is going to be tough to explain.

He's a second year freshman. He played a number of snaps for BC last year.

A what? Is that because of COVID?

Edit: Google suggests it is
Edit 2: Apparently you can play four games now without burning a year of eligibility? Ok

Yes, fewer than four games does not use one of the four eligibility years. Still need to complete in five years other than players who have an exemption (e.g.., missionary) or one of the years was 2020.

My 16 year-old daughter doesn't know a football from a hockey puck and she's been to all of the BC home games this year because her friends go to the games (because their brothers attend BC), and the thought of her being there and not knowing what the F is going on cracks me up. I tried to teach her about football on many occasions but she's given a grand total of zero fucks. That's all I got.

And I know that she wants to ask me about the rules of football (because she'd be mortified if her friends knew that she was oblivious to what was going on), but she's way too proud to ask. I can just picture her clapping and booing a half-second after everyone else in that stadium. LOL.

Decent first start for Moorehead.

Not sure if some of his fade completions were great passes or a tad lucky (and nice catches by his receivers)...but, then again, he did throw the ball where it was impossible for the defender to pick it off.

If it makes you feel any better, she's not gonna learn anything about football from watching a BC game either. After all of your attempts at teaching, she won't come home suddenly informed by that shit.

Hang on for two more years. Matt Hasselbeck's son Henry is a Junior QB at Xaverian. Maybe he will follow in the footsteps of his dad and his uncle Tim and head to Chestnut Hill. Future BC QB?
Didn't work out for the Flutie offspring, the second generation yielded only a punter (Bill). Troy Flutie was a stiff at that level.

BTW, Mark Hartsell's son Austin is the qb for Dexter Southfield and is apparently headed to BC to play baseball.

Troy would have been a solid enough ACC WR if they just told him that was what he was going to be - he was a 6'0 guy with nice athleticism. The insane idea that he was a QB was just that, insane.

Billy Flutie couldnt do anything. He wasnt a punter. He held FGs so maybe they listed him as that.

Edit: I guess they used him as a close in situational punter in 2008. He wasnt the main punter.

Hard to believe they kept Jurk in there so long ahead of Morehead. Morehead is so much better as a passer. Better arm, better spiral, better accuracy

That was…unexpected. Defense really stepped up after the first quarter and Morehead showed some nice tools. With so much uncertainty heading into next year, it’s nice to at least know who the QB is.
